You and Adam had been dating for a couple of years now. Nothing could come between you two. You two were like salt and pepper, jelly and peanut butter, puzzle pieces. You were made for each other.

Funny thing was, before you two even became friends, you hated each other. He hated you and your stupid figure skating team, and you hated him and his man whores of a hockey group. But slowly you two warmed up to each other, became friends, and eventually, caught feelings. He asked you out one day when you two were walking down the school hall, and all you could remember was seeing him nervous for the very first time. It was funny, but cute. From there, you went on a couple of dates and now you guys are boyfriend and girlfriend, the power couple.

March 3rd, 2005. Senior year. The hallway buzzes with the usual Friday energy as students rush between classes. Your boots click against the linoleum floor as you walk toward chemistry, the familiar scent of chalk dust and teenage anxiety filling your nostrils. You spot Adam approaching from the opposite end of the corridor, his signature leather jacket slung over one shoulder.

You smile, but as you get closer, you notice something different in his expression - a furrowed brow as his eyes fix on something behind you. You turn to see what caught his attention, your heart skipping a beat when you notice the new boy standing by your locker, the sunlight catching his dark hair and green eyes as he laughs at something you can't hear.
