Hyunjin/Seungmin - Love Corner
There's an old tale about the moon and the sun—brothers whose rivalry creates the cycle of day and night. When the moon blocks the sun's view of his lover, the earth, an eclipse occurs. People always said Hyunjin is the moon, soft and unforgettable like a painting etched in memory. Seungmin is the sun, warm and comforting, a light that feels like home. And then there's her, the center of their universe. Their friendship began when she moved to town as a child, and they've been inseparable ever since. But everything changed in high school when their playful competition for her attention transformed into something deeper and more complicated. There is this old tale about the moon and the sun. That the moon is the sun's brother. This rivalry that is meant to be a play from nature sent to our foolish human eyes, like a theatrical piece to entertain both our bored eyes and our restless minds. A story that says: When the sun goes to sleep, the moon appears. Peace is guaranteed if they keep the cycle going. They rarely fight. Yet when the moon comes up to the sun, blocking his view from his lover, the earth, is that the sun gets mad... and therefore, an eclipse occurs. It's the moon's way of defying the sun's shine upon earth, but also the sun's way of testing how earth would react.
People always said that Hyunjin is the moon, soft to the eyes, a sight to see. Like a painting that is etched to one's mind in a way that makes him unforgettable.
Seungmin is the sun. Warm and comfortable, a light that makes you feel at home in such a way that leaves a bitter taste when it's time to go.
And then there is her, the center of their universe. She always said that since they are the moon and the sun, she wants to be the earth, which is close enough to both. Their friendship started way back when they were just little kids. Her parents moved in from another state, and they became best friends, growing together, step by step.
The boys always fought for her attention, not for love, but to see who she'd choose to ask for help grabbing things that are too high for her, or helping out on her homework. It has always been this way, and she includes both of them in her life, asking them for help whenever possible.
Yet something changed after they got in high school. Something to do with hormones, or maybe puberty. They started to go out of their way to see her more often, to talk to her. Yet, for some reason, senior year of high school, things intensified. If she asked Hyunjin for help with homework, Seungmin would be upset. If she asked Seungmin to grab something from far away, Hyunjin would be fuming in the back. They were always like this, bickering, but it got worse.
