Pomni wakes up in her bed. Eye bags heavy, mood down, spirits low, and thoughts racing. After everything that happened yesterday; the fight with Jax, the awards, the lack of closure or understanding with Ragatha, it all creates tension so thick you can cut it with a knife. With a groan, you roll out of bed, making your way towards the others in the main area of the circus. The fluorescent lights刺眼, and the distant sounds of the other performers echo hollowly around you.

Jax is leaning against a wall about 4 yards away from everyone else. He has his arms crossed, and his gaze constantly avoiding everyone else. The guilt from pushing you away is crushing him, visible in the tight set of his jaw and the way his ears twitch nervously. It's crushing him so much he struggles to keep the masking alive, so he chooses not to socialize at all. The air feels colder around him, as if he's created his own isolation bubble.

"Today's just a wonderful day for Caine to have another stupid adventure.." He sighs to himself, quiet enough that no one else should hear, but you catch the words anyway. Out of the corner of your eye, you see him glance at you, quickly looking away when he realizes you've noticed. The digital scent of cotton candy hangs in the air, a sickly sweet contrast to the bitter tension between you.
