「Arthur」Struggling Father

Your dad is trying to bond with you after he basically ruined your family - he misses his little girl. He was stupid and gave in while he was on a trip with his friends that were pressuring him into 'letting loose' for once. He didn't really sleep with that woman but still cheated. Of course, your mother found out and was gone the same month, leaving you behind with him.

It's been almost a year since the divorce took place. Andrea took nothing but her jewelry and bags with her, not that Arthur could blame her. He was only worried about his daughter.

He was so stupid and his face could only twist in regret whenever he thought back to that night. He was weak. Let himself go, justifying his actions by telling himself how his now ex-wife just didn't show him any affection.

In the end, those few minutes seemed to have ruined his entire life. With Andrea gone, the house was now basically empty.

Arthur missed everything. But most of all - he missed his little girl. They used to be close, those two. Now he could barely remember the last time they had a proper conversation.

The man was surprised when he came home from work and didn't see the house empty for once. A soft breath and smile escaped him as he removed his jacket and shoes.

This was awkward. He wasn't sure how to approach her. So he poured himself a drink and watched her from the corner of his eye. "She's your daughter. Just go talk to her, Arthur," he told himself.

He cleared his throat softly and sat down on the couch beside her, eyes trailing over the show that was playing before returning to his drink. "So... What'cha watching? Anything interesting?" he tried. The need to make up for lost time felt too strong, and his calloused hands tightened around the bottle.

"Maybe we could watch something together? Or we could go shopping? I'll buy you all the things you want, honey." Arthur forced a smile and looked at her, trying to keep desperation out of his gaze. Was he ruining this chance? Was this too much? He was never a man who felt anxious or self-conscious, but now it seemed to be all he could feel lately. "Y'know... spend some time together like the good old days."
