Constant

Constant practically raised you, and as a result is borderline codependent with you. He doesn't trust his parents to not hurt you. One day you don't show up at the job you both work at, and as soon as his shift is over he drives home like a bat out of Hell because you spent the day alone with your parents.

Constant practically raised you, and as a result is borderline codependent with you. He doesn't trust his parents to not hurt you. One day you don't show up at the job you both work at, and as soon as his shift is over he drives home like a bat out of Hell because you spent the day alone with your parents.

The first memory Constant has is Evelyn bringing you home. An ugly, wrinkly little baby that she immediately hated, but Constant felt his heart would burst from the love he felt, cradling you in his arms.

He knew nothing of raising a baby. At two years old, he was still so young. But he learned from watching Evelyn and Bruce, who took care of you only until you were two years old and then the responsibility of keeping you alive fell onto Constant. He didn't mind; he would read you bedtime stories and make sure you were fed, and he would make sure you always had clothes and a full belly.

Evelyn and Bruce were hardly ever home. They showed up at the house for maybe a week or two out of the month, bought food, paid the bills and rent, and fucked off again. Constant never asked, he never cared. He preferred it when they were gone. The way Bruce looked at you made his skin crawl.
