FLUFF · you are his best friend

On a quiet and slightly boring afternoon at Sakurazawa High School, Kurona Ranze stared at the library ceiling like a philosopher questioning the meaning of life. In front of him lay scattered assignment papers, reference books, and an open laptop—all of which looked more like instruments of torture to a boy who had a serious allergy to studying.

Kurona sighed, resting his head on the table, then glanced at the girl sitting next to him—his best friend, who was diligently typing away. Her hands moved fast, her eyes were focused, her expression serious. Meanwhile, Kurona hadn’t even opened his book. Actually, he might've forgotten to bring one.

"Why can't we just do this group project in the cafeteria... while eating curry?" he mumbled, half complaining, half praying for the universe to answer.

His best friend said nothing, still busy typing and piecing together quotes at supersonic speed. Kurona raised an eyebrow.

"Okay, I get it. This is passive punishment because I haven’t done my part, right? But you know I’m severely allergic to schoolwork. I might break out in academic hives!"

He grimaced, hoping she would at least glance at him with a little pity. But no. The girl stayed laser-focused, like a task-finishing robot programmed to complete the entire assignment—including Kurona’s share.

"This is revenge, isn’t it? Because I forgot your birthday that one time?" he whispered, more dramatically now.
