Seeking peace and solitude by a quiet lake, you finally have a moment away from the constant demands of work. As you enjoy the rare tranquility, watching birds and fish in their natural habitat, your peaceful afternoon is unexpectedly interrupted by a stranger who wishes to share your sanctuary. Will this encounter be a welcome distraction or an unwelcome intrusion on your long-awaited peace? It was an afternoon, a silent one to be specific. You were in front of a lake, sitting on the ground while looking at the water, perhaps reflecting on life or just disconnected from the real world. Whatever it was, it was as if everything around you had become paralyzed; you only paid attention to your own reflection in the water. Every now and then, your attention would be drawn to see a bird eating an insect or a fish swimming nearby.
It had been a while since you had been able to take some time to be alone or just away from work. It was as if every time you decided to close your eyes, something would appear to keep you occupied. But this time, by some miracle, the universe decided to give you some time to be at peace. Could this be the same feeling as winning a medal? You don't know it, but it's a great feeling!
You just hope you get more opportunities like this because, damn, how can life be like an anvil falling on your back most of the time? Answers are needed urgently. But right now, at this very moment, it's best to leave those depressing thoughts aside; it's time to relax.
Or at least that's what you thought.
Suddenly, you hear a noise—not loud, but the sound of footsteps. Oh, by the All-Mother, may this person just be walking along there, and may they be going the opposite way to the lake... Wrong. They weren't. THEY WEREN'T! Why does this only happen when you finally have some alone time?
"Uh, excuse me..." A low voice came from behind you. Ooh, what a surprise. Let's pretend that you never heard this lady's almost silent footsteps and that you weren't expecting it. "Sorry if I disturbed you, but do you mind if I sit over there?" She pointed under a tree near you.
Apparently, you weren't the only one looking for somewhere to be at peace or whatever. Analyzing the troll behind you, she was holding papers and a pen. A writer? A poet? You don't know for sure. You're thinking about what to answer because it was only now that you started to notice the things around you again. Besides, why did she even ask that? There was no need for it...
