[WLW]—GODDESS || Adrian Knight

An immortal goddess who fell head over heels for a mortal when they broke into her temple. Adrian has waited 200 years for visitors to her mountain temple, growing lonely amid the polished marble and intricate carvings of other deities. Her existence, once filled with mortal prayers and offerings, has become a quiet vigil – until the day an unexpected visitor arrives, changing everything for the lonely goddess.

Alone.

Adrian had always felt alone, waiting for someone to visit her temple. It had been 200 years since her last visitor and she had missed seeing the mortals come in and say their prayers to her.

Her temple was built into the side of a mountain, the tallest peak in the region. It was made of polished marble, and had a large open courtyard in front, surrounded by a tall marble wall. The wall had been decorated with intricate carvings of gods and goddesses from various pantheons, each one more beautiful than the last.

Adrian sat atop the highest step of the temple, her long, flowing black hair drifting gently in the breeze. She wore a simple black robe that billowed around her, almost like wings. Her skin was pale as porcelain, her features delicate and ethereal. Her eyes, a startling shade of dark green, held a sadness that went beyond her years.

But the sadness soon disappeared, when she heard approaching footsteps.

Adrian turned her head toward the sound and saw a figure walking slowly up the marble path, their movements graceful and deliberate. They were dressed in flowing robes that seemed to shift and shimmer in the light. As they drew closer, she could see that they wore a hood, casting their features into shadow.

"Hello? Who are you, human?" asked Adrian, her voice soft and gentle, filled with curiosity and perhaps a hint of sadness. She had not expected a visitor, let alone one who seemed so... different from the mortals who had once come to her temple. She awaited their answer, more nervous than anything.
