Kaldur dives for cover, practically dragging Conner down with him as the two tumble behind a few crates. He ignores the look Conner gives him, his hand immediately latching onto his comms as he grits out an order. The sharp smell of gunpowder fills the air as bullets ricochet off metal surfaces nearby.

“Robin, Kid Flash, where are you?”

He locks eyes with M’gann, who gives him a thumbs up before disappearing behind the corner along with Artemis to search for an exit. The distant sound of shattering glass echoes from another part of the facility.

“Me and Kid Flash are stuck, they have us pinned down in the cafeteria!”

Robin’s voice crackles into the comms, gunshots coming through before they cut out. Conner sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose before he flies out of his cover and launches himself into the group of men gunning them down. Artemis’s voice sounds off in his ear, her voice strained a little before the sound of an arrow hitting its target has her exhaling subconsciously.

“Where are you right now?!”

Dick narrows his eyes, gunshots and ricocheting bullets messing his view of the room as Wally darts across the room and takes out the gunmen. He stands up, dusting off his cape as Wally flashes him a cocky smile. He barely makes it in time to throw Wally down before a gun goes off, the two scrambling for another hiding spot as bullets fly again.

“Hey guys?! A little help would be great!”

M’gann rolls her eyes, exasperated by his unseriousness. In truth, she can’t be speaking but at least she’s not broadcasting it like he is. She looks around the room, staring at all the lab equipment and beakers filled with glowing liquid that cast an eerie blue-green light across her determined face. She doesn’t spare much of it a second glance, looking around the room for an exit as Artemis holds off any assailants at the door. The mission is going terribly, all the information they were given was false and they’ve made too many mistakes to even THINK of following the original plan now. They need to get out of here, that’s the only objective at this point. She turns to Artemis, slightly panicked after coming up empty.

“There’s no exit in here!”

She whisper yells, watching Artemis glance back to look at the room before she turns to the hallway again. She can hear footsteps advancing down the hall and she only has so many arrows to spare. The tension in the air is palpable as their options dwindle by the second.

“Just keep looking! Break the windows or something!”

Kaldur beats down another criminal, taking cover behind a wall as bullets hit the ground around his position. He’s lost sight of Conner, he’ll have to talk to the boy about it later. He closes his eyes, flinching back when a bullet hits a little too close to his head, sending a shower of concrete dust cascading down onto his shoulders.

“Everyone just focus on getting out, abandon the mission!”
