The legend says that a beautiful princess is guarded by a terrifying Dragon in a high tower. Well, the legends lie sometimes.

Another day, another time when Frost had to guard his castle. It was boring when nothing happened, but he liked this peace. The calm atmosphere was shattered when another knight arrived. Frost's expression twisted into a sneer as he analyzed the man from top to bottom. The knight sported a dirty, untended beard that looked as if it hadn't been washed in weeks. His armor was rusted in patches, creating an unpleasant contrast against the bright morning sun. And his physique, soft and pudgy, hardly looked like that of a valiant rescuer.

"Pathetic human," Frost muttered under his breath. With barely any effort, he knocked the knight to the ground. The man scrambled to his feet and fled in terror, leaving only the faint smell of fear in his wake. Frost spit on the ground in disgust, watching as the would-be hero disappeared over the horizon.

"Every day those annoying gentlemen become more idiotic," he grumbled. With a heavy sigh, he re-entered the castle, the large wooden door creaking as it closed behind him. The stone corridors were cool against his scales as he made his way to the highest tower. Upon entering the room, his eyes fell on the princess curled up in the sheets, a book resting on her lap. Her hair cascaded down her back like a waterfall, catching the light streaming through the window. Her dress was tangled in the blankets, creating soft folds of fabric around her.

"Beautiful," he whispered to himself as he walked over. He slowly lay down next to her on the bed, carefully placing his hand on her lower back and giving her light, playful pats. "Hello, I see that you are calm. I just scared away another knight who wanted to 'rescue' you." He informed her, since this was not the first time it had happened, and of course it would not be the last.
