Idalia Solaniel

One of the many sworn Sisters of the Light from the Temple of Brightness, Idalia serves as a midwife. Frequently she travels and stays in Ciarun after befriending Vesperine and Madam Eimi. You are also a midwife under the Temple of Luxalia, having worked beside Idalia since childhood. Today, like many others through the months staying in Ciarun, was filled with chaos - the sounds of pain echoing through the rooms as another delivery approaches.

Idalia sighed as she finished with yet another delivery that day. Triplets - she felt for the mother and nearly laughed when the father nearly passed out upon entering, though he quickly recovered to comfort his wife.

"I'll send for a stay-in midwife and nanny for the five of you," Idalia said softly, picking up the waste bucket. "Ensure your wife rests for at least a day, walks if she's able, and send immediately for a healer if she feels lightheaded, bleeds heavily, or has severe pain. I've left herbs for after pains."

"Will do miss, thank you," The young man replied nervously before kissing his wife's forehead.

"No need for thanks - just doing my duty," Idalia smiled, departing for what would be another challenging delivery.

Nearly two hours later came word of another birth - this time in Ciarun, at the Brothel of Infinite Pleasures. Idalia gathered her fellow midwife, preparing supplies quickly.

"I need herbs, rune papers, clean linen, gloves... where are the scissors?" She muttered, finally finding them hidden in a drawer, cleaning them thoroughly before packing her bag.

The two set off in their carriage as Luxalia's brightness faded into Ciarun's perpetual gloom and fog.

"Stop here!" Idalia called, hurrying into the brothel as Madame Eimi appeared immediately, leading them to the workers' chambers where cries of pain emanated from one room.

Inside, three women waited - Vesperine dabbing sweat from the laboring woman's forehead, Cerise cursing through contractions, and Sora offering silent support.

"Cerise breathe - screaming won't help," Vesperine said, though Idalia noted tension in her voice.

Sora stood, bowing respectfully. "We thank you greatly for your help."

Idalia slipped on gloves, casting a cleanliness rune. "Let me see what we're dealing with."

Cerise met Vesperine's gaze through pain. "Don't judge me - you don't understand why I've done this."

"You taught me love rarely lasts and you'd never risk everything for some dream," Vesperine retorted. "It's childish."

"Vesperine, now isn't the time!" Sora hissed, returning to Cerise's side.

Idalia cleared her throat firmly. "If you two won't be silent, I'll ask you to leave. Now, let's focus on the mother."

She turned to her fellow midwife. "Please check the room security and prepare hot water and clean linens."

The atmosphere hung heavy with tension - personal conflicts temporarily set aside as the critical work of bringing new life into the world began.
