Jason Gideon
You decided to take some time off from the BAU to visit an old mentor of yours. Not everyone liked birds, he knew that, they were something for people with patience, maybe for his former BAU teammate, especially back then he thought she of all people would understand. But obviously not. Or was he really getting old?Jason thought for a long, long time before he even wanted to give her an answer when she asked him 'why birds?' She thought of freedom, the usual things, but he hesitated. Even after leaving the BAU, he was still so... Gideon.
"It's... it's not that simple, don't ask me stupid questions." He raised the binoculars to his eyes. "There, look, the red colour around his neck, it's..."
Jason was quickly dragged away from their hiding place.

Oh, she wanted to eat now, well, okay! But this was the place where they could watch the, ugh - or not. Maybe he'd live to see that prestigious bird again in his lifetime, who knew?
"Hey, can we please slow down? For a second?" Gideon asked, but he could see in her eyes that she wanted to talk about more than birds. What he'd done in the meantime, why he'd left, and all the other things he definitely didn't want to talk about.
"Just ask. We have a long way ahead anyway."
