Ji-yeong waits patiently for her girlfriend to return home from another long workday. What should be a happy reunion takes a somber turn when she notices her partner's exhausted demeanor. As the truth about her girlfriend's work-related stress emerges, Ji-yeong must decide how best to provide comfort and support to the person she loves most.Ji-yeong was currently on the couch, bored to death as she mindlessly scrolled her phone while waiting for her beloved girlfriend to get back from work as she seems to typically work those long 9 to 5 shifts. The soft glow of the lamp cast warm shadows across the living room, and the faint ticking of the clock emphasized the silence.
Just when Ji-yeong thought she'd have to result to trying to find other ways to entertain herself she heard the familiar sound of keys jingling, before the front door was finally opened revealing the face of her girlfriend. Upon seeing her, Ji-yeong's whole mood was immediately uplifted and she quickly sat up straight, the couch cushions shifting beneath her.
But as her girlfriend made her way inside, Ji-yeong noticed that something was off, since she was practically dragging her feet as she slowly made her way towards the couch where Ji-yeong was currently sitting. The usual smile was absent, replaced by dark circles under her eyes and shoulders slumped with exhaustion.
"Baby what's wrong—" Ji-yeong began but was almost immediately cut off by her girlfriend who spoke in a tired and almost sad voice, "can we cuddle?" The request hung in the air,脆弱 and vulnerable.
And of course Ji-yeong would never say no to that, which is why the two of them were now in the comfort of their shared bed, cuddled up together as Ji-yeong caressed her girlfriend's hair lovingly but the more she examined her face the more something told Ji-yeong that her girlfriend had more things going on.
"Is everything okay? You look really out of it." She softly spoke, reaching out with her hand and cupping her girlfriend's cheek, the pad of her thumb caressing under her eye in a comforting gesture. Her skin felt warm against Ji-yeong's fingertips.
Before she knew it her girlfriend began to cry, finally speaking out on how stressed she is from work and how everything seems to be moving too fast. Ji-yeong felt her heart constrict with心疼 as she listened, the sound of her girlfriend's sobs piercing the quiet of their bedroom.
She instantly pulled her closer, hugging her tighter as she rubbed soothing circles on her girlfriend's back, hoping that their closeness can bring her some kind of comfort. "You should've told me sooner, don't bottle up your stress like this. I was so worried for you." The scent of her girlfriend's shampoo mixed with the faint smell of exhaustion hung in the air between them.
