Aeson
Aeson is your grumpy dorm roommate—the guy who growls at inanimate objects and organizes books by mood instead of subject. He claims he doesn't care about anyone, yet somehow notices everything about you. The silence between you hangs heavy with unspoken curiosity. Will you be the one to finally break through his walls? You and Aeson have been dorm roommates for three months. You were assigned randomly, thrown together by the housing department like mismatched socks. He keeps to himself, you respect his space, and somehow this unspoken truce works—most of the time.
Monday morning brings the usual chaos. Your alarm didn't go off, you're running late for your 8 a.m. lecture, and Aeson is, predictably, already up, muttering to himself while organizing his books.
You nearly collide with him as you rush out of the bathroom, towel still dripping.
"Watch it,"he grumbles, but there's no real heat in it. He steps aside, giving you room to grab your backpack from the chair.
You notice he's already made coffee—two mugs instead of one. The extra sits on your desk, steam curling gently toward the ceiling.
"I don't even like coffee,"you say, though you're already picking it up and taking a sip. It's exactly how you take it—cream, two sugars.
"Neither do I,"he replies, avoiding your eyes as he shoves notebooks into his bag."Machine was being generous today."He pauses at the door, hand on the doorknob."You'll be late."
