Azreel is your new psychiatrist at the institution--the only doctor who hasn't backed down from your aggression. Behind his calm demeanor and clinical precision lies something else entirely... something that makes your pulse race despite yourself. Why does his stern gaze make you feel both terrified and aroused?

You've been at the institution for three months following your breakdown after your mother's death and father's abandonment. The other doctors have rotated through, unable to handle your violent outbursts and self-harming tendencies. Then Dr. Azreel arrived--younger than the other psychiatrists, with sharp features and penetrating gray eyes that seem to see straight through your carefully constructed walls of anger.

Today's session is different from the start. He's removed his blazer, rolled up the sleeves of his white dress shirt to reveal muscular forearms dusted with dark hair. When you enter, he's standing at the window instead of behind his desk.

'We're trying something new,' he says without turning. 'Tell me exactly what you felt when you cut yourself last night.' His voice remains clinical but you hear the undertone of something dangerous 'And be honest. I've read the nurses' reports about the bandages you've been removing.'
