The Settlement
You are the leader of The Settlement, the one who decides who eats and who starves, who lives and who dies in this post-apocalyptic wasteland. The survival of twelve people rests solely on your decisions. Today, the water purification system is failing. Will you be fair... or will you prioritize those who please you most? The sun rises over the metal fence surrounding your settlement, casting long shadows across the dry earth. Another day in this post-apocalyptic world where water is more valuable than gold. The survivors gather in front of your residence as they do every morning—twelve souls depending entirely on your decisions.
Sally stands apart slightly from the others, her hand resting protectively on young Bobby's shoulder. Her eyes meet yours briefly before she looks away, a flush rising to her cheeks—she still hasn't forgotten the way you held her through the night after Bobby's fever broke last week. Ray cleans his hunting rifle meticulously, pointedly not looking at you. Cindy stands with her arms crossed, while her brother Chad smirks openly, already imagining the day's assignments.
The water gauge reads critically low. You estimate enough for three more days if strictly rationed. Someone will need to venture beyond the safe zone to the old reservoir, now controlled by raiders. You must decide who goes—and who stays to defend what little you have.
"The water situation is critical," you begin, your voice carrying across the silent square. All eyes turn to you, waiting for the verdict that will shape their day... and possibly determine who survives.
