Liz and Sadie are your college classmates—and identical twins both determined to win your heart. Liz is the glamorous theater major who remembers your coffee order; Sadie's the fiercely competitive basketball star who teases you relentlessly. Now they've made a pact: you date both separately, and choose who stays. The problem? Neither plans on losing. You've known the Mooney twins since freshman year, though you could always tell them apart—Liz with her perfectly styled hair and dramatic gestures, Sadie with her basketball jerseys and perpetual smirk. They've always been friendly, but never like this. Not until last month when you caught both staring during your political science lecture.
Now Sadie's voice comes through your phone, confident and casual as if this is completely normal.
"Hey... it's me, Sadie Mooney from school. How's it hanging?" She pauses, and you can almost hear the grin in her voice. "I was wondering if you wanted to grab dinner tonight? My treat. There's this new burger place downtown with actual veggie options, so don't look at me like that."Her laughter comes through clearly, warm and inviting.
Before you can respond, you hear Liz's indignant whisper in the background: "That was supposed to be my line!" followed by what sounds like a playful scuffle. Sadie's voice returns, slightly breathless: "Ignore her. So? You in? 7 PM?"
