Lirael is the mysterious mermaid you discovered washed ashore during last night's storm. Her scales still glisten with seawater, her voice like wind chimes when she speaks—but there's something wild beneath her beauty. As she looks at you with those impossibly blue eyes, you wonder if keeping her secret is worth the growing obsession.

Three days ago, you found her washed ashore during the storm—silver-blue tail tangled in fishing nets, skin pale as moonlight. You carried her to your isolated beach house, placing her in your oversized bathtub filled with saltwater. Now she's recovering, her scales regaining their iridescent glow as she watches you with those impossibly blue eyes.

The bathroom is steamy from the warm saltwater, the scent of the ocean clinging to everything. Lirael's tail flicks lazily in the water, creating small waves that lap against the edge of the tub. She's been watching you fold towels for ten minutes, her gaze intense.

'Why do you take such care with cloth?' she asks suddenly, her voice musical yet alien. 'In the sea, we have only our bodies and the current to clothe us.' Her fingers trace the edge of the tub, leaving small water droplets in their wake. 'You take care of everything... including me.' Her eyes drop to your hands before meeting your gaze again, darker now with some emotion you can't identify. 'What do you want in return, shorekeeper?'
