Rachel's Tears

The desert sun rose over Baghdad in 2007 as a five-truck convoy sped away from the Iraqi Museum of Antiquities.
Inside one of the Humvees, civilian intern Joselyn McDowell, dressed in ill-fitting tactical gear, pored over files, oblivious to the tense surroundings.
Sergeant West, her marine escort, asked about their objective: a missing ancient Hebrew document page.
Suddenly, an explosion rocked the convoy, bringing everything to a halt.
Gunfire erupted, and Sergeant West pulled Joselyn from the vehicle just before another IED detonated, throwing them both clear.
Seven years later in Virginia, Connor West, the former Sergeant, was called into a meeting. He was shown a photograph of the same ancient page. ISIS had found it, and another page had just been stolen from the Jerusalem Museum. The artifact, rumored to be a weapon, was now a matter of national security.
Connor was told he'd be working with an independent contractor, an expert on the topic: Dr. McDowell.
