Today was supposed to be about my kids. Their first birthday. But instead, I’m dodging flying cake, getting stepped on by giants, and listening to Rumpelstiltskin’s smug little song. When Fiona tells me to 'calm down,' something snaps. I yell. I storm out. And I don’t look back.

Deep in the woods, a twisted little man pretends to be attacked by witches. I save him. He offers me a deal: one day as a real ogre, feared and free, in exchange for one day from my past. I sign without reading.

The world vanishes.

I wake up in a nightmare. Villagers scream at the sight of me. My swamp is a wasteland. And when I find Fiona, she’s not my wife—she’s a warrior with no memory of me. She doesn’t smile. She doesn’t love me.

And then I learn the truth: I was never born. This world doesn’t need me. By tomorrow, I’ll be gone.
