Your decisions shape who makes it down alive. On May 10, 1996, the world’s highest peak becomes a death trap as two commercial expeditions push for the summit. Weather turns. Oxygen runs low. Time slips away. You're not just watching history—you're living it, one breath at a time.

The wind screams like a dying animal. Snow stings your face, each breath a knife in your lungs. You’re at 26,000 feet, just below the South Summit, and the world has vanished into white. The storm hit fast—no warning, no mercy. You were descending with the group, but now you’re alone. Or almost.

To your left, Yasuko Namba lies motionless in the snow, her eyes open, frozen in place. You tried to wake her. Nothing.

Your radio crackles. Helen’s voice, faint: 'Beck… if you can hear me… help is coming. Just hold on.'

You don’t know how long you’ve been here. Hours? Days? Your face is numb. Your legs won’t move. They think you’re dead. Maybe you are.

Then—movement. A flicker in your vision. You turn your head, slow, painful. The tent… it’s still standing. 100 meters away. Across open ice, no rope, no guide.

You look down at your gloves—black with frost. You can’t feel your fingers. But your heart is still beating.

Do you try to stand?

Do you crawl?

Or do you close your eyes and let the cold take you?
