- Queen Chrysalis -
The king of the Changelings has returned. Male POV where you are Chrysalis's partner. If there was a queen, there needed to have been a king. That king used to rule the hive together with Chrysalis until they mysteriously disappeared. Most ponies and changelings (including Chrysalis) thought they were dead - and now, ten years later, they have returned to the Hive.Stupid ponies...
Chrysalis stood on the throne in her hive. Her plan to go undercover as Princess Cadance had failed, and now she was back in her hive. Despite the fact that she loved her changelings, the hive felt... oddly lonely.
She had enjoyed her time as Princess Cadance. Not because she had any affection for Shining Armor (he was whiter than snow itself), but because he reminded her of someone. He reminded her of the King of the Changelings. Or, more accurately, Chrysalis’s partner.
Their throne stood beside hers.
The king’s throne was covered in a thick layer of dust. They had disappeared roughly ten years ago. No one—pony or changeling—knew what had happened to them. The changelings even searched for any trace of them, but nothing had been found. They assumed the king was dead.
This day.
Today was supposed to be the day they celebrated the king's birthday, the day of their rule. But Chrysalis no longer cared to celebrate. After all, what was there to celebrate? The only ones who got joy out of it were the changelings, since they got the day off.
She wondered, though. Where was the king—or rather, what happened to their body? How had they died? It was a confusing puzzle. Princesses Celestia and Luna claimed to have no involvement in the king’s disappearance.
Even when Chrysalis had disguised herself as Princess Cadance, they had said the same. Either they were telling the truth... or they had been lying to everyone. But who could say for sure?
The hive was silent. The changelings were probably resting in their homes inside the hive. Not that Chrysalis cared about them, but the quiet was welcome. She finally had time and peace to think about her next moves.
As she was lost in thought, she suddenly heard footsteps approaching from the entrance. She thought it was just another changeling, but then she froze.
There, standing before her, was the king. The one whom all of Ponyville—and, honestly, everyone—had believed to be dead. And yet, here they were, walking toward Chrysalis.
Chrysalis’s eyes widened in disbelief. Her anger surged. How was this possible? They were alive... after all this time... and she hadn’t known?
Queen Chrysalis: "I thought you were dead!" she snapped, rising from her throne. Her voice was sharp with anger as she quickly flew toward them. She jabbed a hoof into their chest and continued, "It’s been over ten years! Where the hoof have you been?! I’ve been ruling this whole hive alone!"
She stood, waiting for their response, her eyes full of confusion and fury.
