Chapter 1 Chapter 1

In the CEO’s office of Blizzard Group in South River City, Quinn Norris’ eyes widened as she looked at the young man in front of her in disbelief. “What did you just say? You’re my fiancé?”“That’s right. Your grandfather promised your hand to me three years ago. This is the agreement. Read it for yourself.” The young man’s name was Chase Collins. He took out a marriage agreement and passed it to Quinn. Quinn wanted to die when she finished reading the agreement. She was sure that the agreement was real because it was the writing of her grandfather, Charles Norris. It was even stamped with his personal seal. Quinn took a deep breath. Her expression was cold as she asked, “Your name is Chase Collins?”“That’s right. Chase nodded. He could not help but stare at her. She had a beautiful face and nice, fair skin. Even though she looked tense all the time, she could still easily mesmerize men around her. Quinn was wearing business attire, which accentuated her voluptuous body, especially her slender waist. Even a professional model would not look as good as her. When Quinn noticed Chase looking at her lustily, she said fiercely, “Where are you looking, you lecher?” Chase gave her an infuriating reply. “Nine points for the face and ten for the body. You make do for my wife.”“You…”, Quinn was furious. Did he know who she was? She was the daughter of the influential and wealthy Norrises, the CEO of Blizzard Group, and a woman of great talent and beauty. Quinn had built her company from nothing and grew it into a billion-dollar company, all without the help of her family. Besides that, she was known as the most beautiful woman in South River City who had many young men obsessing over her. The hillbilly right in front of her was in a black singlet and huge, baggy pants. He was also wearing a pair of dirty flip-flops. Besides a face that could more or less be considered handsome, his entire image could be described as outdated and a total bumpkin. How could a boor like him comment that a woman like Quinn Norris could make do as his wife? Quinn tried her best to hold back her anger. “How did you con my grandfather into giving you this marriage agreement?” Her grandfather, Charles, was a shrewd man. How did he end up giving her hand to this country bumpkin? Chase must have used some kind of trick to scam him into this. However, Chase replied lazily, “Your grandfather was seriously ill three years ago. He came to me to help cure him, and I managed to extend his life by three years. He was so grateful that he drew up this marriage agreement and gave your hand to me. You can ask him about it if you don’t believe me.” Quinn was taken aback but later replied sardonically, “My grandfather suffered a stroke and has been paralyzed for more than half a month. He's currently unconscious.” The entire South River City knew that Charles was seriously ill and bedridden. He could not even speak. She wondered if the man in front of her knew about this. It could be the reason why he dared to lie to her about this. Charles was unconscious? Chase was surprised by this. However, he later understood the reason for this. He had not managed to cure Charles completely three years ago. All he did was control the exacerbation of his condition, which extended his life by three more years. Now that the three years were up, his injury had flared up once more, which was why he turned out this way. Quinn thought Chase’s lie must have been caught when he stayed silent. She said frostily, “Chase, is it? I’ll be direct with you. I won’t marry you because you’re not good enough for me. “I have many admirers who are either talented and ambitious young men in South River City or wealthy business magnates. I’m not even interested in them, much less someone like you. “That is why I’d like to dissolve this agreement. What do you think?”

Chapter 2 Chapter 2

Quinn stared straight at Chase. There was an arrogant look on her face. Her secretary, Elaine Parker, looked at Chase in disdain. How could a penniless man like him be good enough for their CEO? “Sure.” Chase replied nonchalantly, “Although, that won’t be up to you to decide. This marriage was decided by your grandfather. You can wait until I’ve cured your grandfather so he can dissolve this marriage personally. If he's willing to do so, I will honor his decision.” Quinn felt even more disdain for him when she saw him refusing to give up. “I’ll be in charge of my own marriage. Also, I’ll figure out my grandfather’s situation. There is no need for you to worry about it.” She quickly scribbled on a check. “Here's a check for five million. If you’re willing to dissolve the marriage between us, this money is yours. “Five million is nothing to me, but for those in the lower tier of society like you, it’s enough for you to survive your entire life. I believe you won’t reject my offer.” A sarcastic smile appeared on Quinn’s face. She looked like she was donating money to a beggar. Chase replied nonchalantly, “You can keep the check. I may be poor, but I never accept money I don’t deserve. “I’ll say this again. I’m fine with dissolving the agreement, but Charles Norris has to be the one to do it.” After that, Chase pushed the door open and left. He was decisive about it and walked off without looking back. “Miss Norris, that man has no idea what he’s talking about. Why were you so polite to him?” Elaine asked angrily. “He’s just acting out because of his pathetic pride.” Quinn bit her lip and said furiously, “It'll be difficult for him to survive in South River City without money. I bet he’ll be back within three days.”“Let’s stop talking about him.” She shook her head and said, “By the way, Elaine, help me make an appointment with Sam Collins. "I heard that he was suffering from the final stage of cirrhosis five years ago and the hospital informed him that he was as good as dead. But he was cured by a miracle doctor called the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate. “If we can manage to get this doctor, there'll be hope for Grandpa. Let’s see what Chase Collins has to say when Grandpa personally dissolves the marriage agreement between us.” Her eyes were blazing fire when she said this. Chase was headed toward a taxi by the roadside. He looked around the familiar street. There was determination burning in his eyes. “I’m finally back, my sisters. Your Rocky has returned to avenge you!” There was a cold expression on his face, and he looked like another person. Chase had grown up at an orphanage before he was 11. There were seven girls who had grown up there with him. The youngest of them was only a month older than he was. The oldest of the girls was five years older than Chase. All seven of them treated him well, and they were very protective of him. He was the first person on their minds whenever they had something nice they wanted to share. They even promised to marry him together after they grew up. Unfortunately, a fire broke out at the orphanage when Chase was 11. Everything was burned down, and none of them were able to escape it because they had chosen to save Chase. That was how Chase managed to get out alive while the rest of them died in the fire. After that, Chase was saved by an old priest who taught Chase everything he knew. Before he died, Chase inherited the moniker of the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate from him and was given the task of protecting the children of the old priest’s past lover. Chase had come down the mountains to fulfill the old man’s dying wish and take revenge. He wanted the murderer of his sisters to all go to hell!

Chapter 3 Chapter 3

Half an hour later, Chase found the Turners’ Residence according to the address given to him by the old man. Henry Turner, who was close to 50, smiled as he finished reading the letter given to him inside the living room. “It’s true. It’s the writing of that esteemed man.”“Now do you believe who I am, Uncle Henry?” Chase asked, “The old man told me that you asked for his help right before he died. He requested that I protect your family. Can you tell me what happened?” Henry sighed. “It’s like this, Chase. A business competitor wrote me a letter anonymously to tell me that he would kidnap my daughter. “I’ve hired five bodyguards for her, but she has been spoiled by me since young. All five of them have been chased off by her. “After giving this thorough consideration, I decided to ask for your master’s help.” Henry smiled at Chase. “Your master has given me the solution in the letter you brought me. You need to be my daughter’s fiancé. That will give you a good reason to protect her.” Chase frowned. “I don’t think that’s appropriate, Uncle Henry.”“There’s nothing inappropriate about this unless you’re looking to disobey his orders.” With a smile, Henry continued, “I approve of you as my son-in-law. It’s decided, then.” Chase had no idea what else to say. “Alright. But I’ll only protect your daughter for three months.” He quietly disagreed with this. This old man had always caused trouble for others when he was alive, and even in death, he was giving trouble to his disciple. If he had known that his master would do this to him, Chase would not have been so nice as to buy so much porn for him when he was alive. A cold voice rang out right then. “I don’t agree with this, Dad!” The next moment, Chase saw a woman running in angrily. She did not have makeup on, but her features were exquisite. Her long hair fell over her shoulders, and she had long, slender legs that were fair and smooth. Behind her was a middle-aged woman who looked like she had taken good care of herself. The woman looked like she was about 40. Riley Turner had fire spitting out of her eyes. All she did was go out shopping with her mother and in that period of time, her father had already arranged a fiancé for her. The fiancé he got for her looked no different than a beggar. She would be a laughingstock if her friends found out about this. “Are you crazy, Henry? This boy isn’t good enough for Riley,” Henry’s wife, Laura Holland, said coldly. “This is all for Riley’s good. You’ll understand the reason for this in the future,” Henry tried to calm them down. Riley stamped her feet. “Dad, I'll never marry a beggar like him even if it kills me.”“I don’t agree to this either.” Laura objected to this loudly. Henry was enraged. “This has been decided. There is no room for discussion. Chase, I’ll be handing my daughter over to you.”“Don’t worry, Uncle Henry. I’ll make sure to protect her well,” Chase promised. Smiling, Henry said, “Riley, bring Chase with you to buy some daily necessities. It’s his first time here, and he doesn’t know the city well. “By the way, bring Chase to your company tomorrow as well for an interview. “Isn’t your colleague’s uncle the HR manager there? Just inform your colleague to arrange for Chase to work in your company.” Riley was almost bursting into tears, but she knew her father was furious. All she could do was glare at Chase. After they left the house, she looked at Chase in disgust. “I’m warning you, Collins. Don’t even think that we’ll really be getting married. I’m not into frogs like you. Just give it up.” She thought Chase would argue against this, but to her surprise, he seemed nonchalant about it. “I’ll leave when the time comes.”

Chapter 4 Chapter 4

“If that’s what you think, you can go ahead and buy what you need on your own.” Riley left after saying this coldly to Chase. Chase shrugged and walked away to hail a taxi by the road. “Take me to Emgrand Group.” Riley entered a Starbucks and sat down. The more she thought about it, the angrier she was. She took out her phone and sent a message to her chat group: [This sucks! This really sucks!] There were only five people in the chat group, and they were all colleagues who got along with Riley. It was not long before a woman named Anna Clayton replied to her message: [What’s wrong, Riley? Who upset you this time?] [My dad found some random country bumpkin and made him my fiancé.] Riley finally found someone she could vent to. [What?] [Woah! Are you for real?] The group chat immediately became active. [Why would I lie to you?] Riley typed angrily: [The worst thing about this is that my dad is making me get him a job at our company. My dad claims that it would be easier for him to protect me, and I can’t reject this at all.] [It’s going to be fine, Riley.] A man named Edward Wright replied: [Just leave this to me. I’ll make sure he’ll end up getting humiliated and keep his distance from you.] [Hahaha! Since our dear Edward says so, that guy is about to have some very bad luck tomorrow.] [That’s true. Everyone knows that Edward’s uncle is the HR manager of La Fleur. It will take only one word from Edward to stop that guy from stepping into our company.] [Drama will ensue tomorrow.] Everyone began discussing this heatedly. Riley hesitated before replying: [Don’t go too far, Edward. Just give him a minor lesson that’s enough to make him back off.] Edward replied: [Don’t worry, I know what to do.] Riley looked happy after putting down her phone. Tomorrow would be the day Riley showed him just how impossible it would be between them. At Emgrand Group, a man in a suit with a stern expression was kneeling on one knee in front of Chase. “Greetings, sir.” Anyone witnessing this scene would have been shocked. That man’s name was Sam Collins. He was the head of Emgrand Group and was also known as the kingpin of South River City. He was the underworld kingpin of South River City. He could bring down the city with just a snap of his fingers. “That’s enough, Sam. Stop with this formality.” Chase crossed his legs and said brusquely, “The old man told me to come here to see you before he died. Tell me, what other orders did he have for me?”“Master told me to give something to you, sir.” Sam had prepared the items, and he passed them to Chase. “This is the key to villa No. 1 at Imperial Dragon Bay. The villa is worth 500 million. Master had bought it for you a long time ago. It’s known as the best mansion in South River City. You can move in anytime. “Also, this is the share transfer agreement for a subsidiary under my company. It’s not worth much, only ten billion. All you need is to sign here and this company will belong to you.” Chase took the key from Sam and glanced at the contract. He realized that it was the shares of a cosmetic company called ‘La Fleur’. After signing the agreement, Chase suddenly asked coldly, “Are there any updates for the investigation I requested?” Sam said, “Sir, I found out that the fire at Green Hills Orphanage 12 years ago had something to do with the Quaids of South River City…” Chase clenched his fists. A terrifying aura emanated from around him. Murder! He had the intent to murder!

Chapter 5 Chapter 5

“Sir, the Quaids had their eyes on the land of Green Hills Orphanage 12 years ago. They tried everything they could to convince the orphanage director, Gideon Hills, to give up the orphanage, but he wouldn’t budge. "In the end, they burned down Green Hills and grabbed the opportunity to take the land… “The Quaids later became one of the five elite families of South River City because of that land! “I’ve received information that the Quaids will be attending an auction three days later to bid on an emerald. Rumor has it that the emerald is a remnant from Green Hills Orphanage that is supposed to be magical.” Chase looked like he was ready to murder them. Sam felt as though an invisible pair of hands was strangling him, and it sent chills down his spine. “The Quaids have to pay for this!” Chase smiled, but there was a chilling look in his eyes. They had murdered 108 people in that fire for a piece of land. He immediately instructed, “Make preparations. I'll attend that auction in three days. That emerald must not fall into the hands of the Quaids. We’ll take the opportunity to teach them a minor lesson.” If Chase had guessed right, that piece of emerald was taken off him when the old orphanage director had found him by the road. According to Gideon, the emerald had something to do with Chase’s identity. In order not to lose it, he had kept the emerald on Chase's behalf and had planned to return it when Chase turned 18. Unfortunately, a fire broke out at the orphanage when Chase was 11 and everything changed. Sam nodded. “By the way, sir, I’ve also managed to find out that seven little girls survived the fire from that day…”“What did you just say?” Chase froze and stared at Sam. “I swear with my life that there were seven girls who survived because they hid inside a dry well during the fire, but they disappeared after that. “It’s as if someone had erased all evidence of their existence.”“Seven little girls…” Chase clenched his fists. He thought, “Could they be my sisters? They’re still alive?" “Look into it. Continue following any leads you have on this and report to me the moment you find out something.” Taking a deep breath, he made a silent promise to himself, “Don’t worry, my sisters, I’ll find you! You protected me back then, and now, it’s my turn to shield all of you from harm!” … Half an hour later, Sam walked Chase to a taxi in a respectful manner. Meanwhile, Quinn had just got out of a Bentley and witnessed this scene. She paused in her steps as an astonished look crossed her face. “What’s wrong, Miss Norris?” Elaine asked in bewilderment. Quinn took a deep breath and said, “I think I just saw Chase Collins being politely sent off in a taxi by the kingpin of South River City.” Elaine was taken aback. She quickly looked in the direction Quinn was staring at and said, “I don’t see him. Is it possible you mistook him for someone else, Miss Norris? Chase Collins is a country bumpkin. It’s impossible that he would know someone as important as the kingpin.” Quinn contemplated this. Elaine was right. That man was just a country bumpkin. How would he know the kingpin? Quinn shook her head. “I might have made a mistake. Forget about it. Let’s go see him. I’ll have to convince him to introduce the miracle doctor to me, no matter what.” Ten minutes later, Quinn finally managed to see Sam. “Miss Norris, may I know what brings you here?” Sam stared at her emotionlessly. Quinn hesitated before saying, “Mr. Collins, I heard that you suffered from the last stage of cirrhosis five years ago but was treated by a miracle doctor. I was wondering if that story is true.”“It is.” Sam nodded subtly. A look of gratitude flashed in his eyes. He was diagnosed with cirrhosis five years ago and had lost all hope. Just as he was about to die, Chase appeared and saved him. Otherwise, he would be gone by now.

Chapter 6 Chapter 6

Quinn’s pretty face lit up. “Mr. Collins, I’d like to find out if the miracle doctor is as good as you say. Is he able to treat ALS?” She had asked this question because her grandfather, Charles, was suffering from ALS. It was known as one of the top five terminal illnesses in the world. ALS patients normally would only have three to five years to live. The symptoms included muscle atrophy, stiffness of limbs, and paralysis. It even affected the respiratory muscles, which would cause the patient to die of respiratory failure. Charles' condition was at the late stage, and he could die at any moment. “ALS?” Sam was taken aback. He replied seriously, “If it was some other doctor, there might not be hope, but it shouldn’t be a problem if it's the miracle doctor who treated me five years ago.” Quinn felt as though something had gone off in her mind, and her breathing got a little more ragged. If it were someone else, she would not have believed it. She might even think she was being tricked. However, this man was Sam Collins. He was the owner of Emgrand Group! He was the kingpin of South River City which everyone feared! His words were worth more than anything in this world! Quinn got agitated when she heard this. Her voice trembled as she asked, “Mr. Collins, can… Can you introduce me to this miracle doctor?”“Of course, I can. He happens to be here in South River City. I’ll share his address with you.” Sam nodded and wrote it down on a piece of paper. “Alright.” Quinn felt like she had finally seen hope and kept saying, “Thank you, Mr. Collins, thank you.” Sam passed her the address and said, “Miss Norris, I need to tell you that the miracle doctor is known as the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate. He's much more powerful than you can imagine. "Even someone like me is considered nothing in front of him. It would depend on his mood if he's willing to help you out.” The look on Quinn’s pretty face changed. She quickly said, “Don’t worry, Mr. Collins. I’ll make sure to be respectful to the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate. I won’t offend him in any way.” After she left Emgrand Group, Quinn immediately said to Elaine, “Elaine, we should hurry and get to Imperial Dragon Bay now.”“What? Imperial Dragon Bay?” Elaine was shocked. “Miss Norris, is the miracle doctor staying there? That’s the most luxurious residential area in South River City.” Quinn tried her best to stay calm. “Yes. The kingpin told me that the miracle doctor is now staying at villa No. 1 of Imperial Dragon Bay.” Elaine was stunned. Villa No. 1 of Imperial Dragon Bay! That was the most luxurious mansion in South River City. It was worth 500 million, and there was only one available in the entire city. No amount of money could buy another one. The villa district of Imperial Dragon Bay was lined with independent villas at the foot of the hill. At the peak of the hill was a villa that looked like a palace. It was hidden in the mist and looked like a place out of fairyland. “It’s surrounded by water and has mountains all around. There is strong spiritual energy, so it's a very strategic location.” Chase hiked up the hill while looking at the peak. “I bet the villa the old man got for me is up there.” A Bentley was speeding up the hill from the foot. Elaine and Quinn were seated inside. Elaine suddenly spotted a figure a distance away from the road and said in astonishment, “Miss Norris, is that the bumpkin, Chase Collins, in front of us?” Quinn took off her sunglasses and looked over. The look on her face fell. “It is him. What’s he doing here?”“Stop the car, Elaine.” Elaine hit the brakes, and Quinn looked coldly outside toward Chase as she asked, “What are you doing here?” Chase was not happy with her attitude. Frowning, he answered, “I live here.”

Chapter 7 Chapter 7

“Huh?” Quinn and Elaine were taken aback at first, but they later laughed out loud in unison. “I didn’t hear that wrong, did I, Collins? You’re saying that you live here?” Elaine laughed in great exaggeration. “Do you know how much a villa is worth here? It can easily go up to 30 or 40 million. A bumpkin like you can work hard your entire life and you won’t even be able to afford a bathroom here.”“Oh, I can’t take it anymore. You’re making me laugh too hard.” Her hands were clasping on her tummy, and she could not stop laughing. Quinn had an angry smile on her face. “Tell me, which is your house?”“It’s at the peak. I think it’s called Imperial Dragon Bay Villa No. 1 or something,” Chase replied casually. Quinn laughed sardonically. If he had mentioned another random villa, she might have believed him. However, Imperial Dragon Bay Villa No.1 was the address of the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate. Why would this country bumpkin be staying there? She looked at Chase sympathetically. “Chase Collins, do you have any idea what a clown you are right now to me? You’re making me dislike you even more.”“It’s up to you whether to believe me or not.” Chase shrugged and turned to walk away. He was not bothered to argue with them. “You should leave before security discovers you. The consequences would be dire if you get caught.” Quinn got Elaine to continue driving up the hill after saying this to Chase. When they arrived at the villa on the peak, Quinn gently pressed on the doorbell. “Mr. Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate, I’m Miss Norris from the Norrises of South River City. I’m here to ask for your help to save my grandfather…” She spoke for a long time, but there was no reaction from inside the villa. “Miss Norris, I think he must have gone out. Why don’t we come back another day?” Elaine could not help saying. “That’s all we can do for now,” Quinn sighed. They got into the Bentley and drove back the way they came. Quinn stared at the road on their way back but did not see any sign of Chase. She grunted coldly. “Looks like he really did sneak in. He must have left quietly because he was worried he would be caught by the security guards. “We have to see the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate as soon as possible and get him to cure Grandpa. That way, I can be rid of Chase Collins.” Meanwhile, Chase had arrived at the peak by hiking up through the forest path. He looked at the luxurious villa in front of him and nodded with satisfaction. “At least that old man is nice enough to give me such an extravagant mansion.” That was when Henry called him on the phone. “Chase, remember to go to the hospital to conduct a medical check-up. You need it for the interview at Riley’s company tomorrow.”“Got it.” Chase hung up, and after that, he headed to the hospital for a medical check-up. As the medical report required at least one hour to be prepared, Chase decided to walk around the hospital as he was bored. When he passed by a hospital room, he heard heartbreaking sobs coming from inside. An old man was lying unconscious on his hospital bed. He looked like he was hardly breathing. His bed was surrounded by men and women who were dressed well. All of them were looking at the old man sadly. “Doctor Strickland, is there really no hope for my grandfather?” A young woman of about 20 asked. Her eyes were red. “Even if it’s three hours more of seeing him alive, we’d be happy enough.” The old man lying in bed was the rock of the Coopers. A huge calamity would befall the Coopers if anything happened to him. If he had three hours more to live, he would be able to settle many issues. Dr. Strickland, who was an elderly man in a suit, sighed. “It’s already too late. Some things can’t be changed.”“The elderly Mr. Cooper served the country in the war when he was younger and was left with many injuries from the bloody fights. His old wounds worked up, causing his organs to fail. His time is up. I can’t help him anymore. Even the legendary Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate won’t be able to save him.” Everyone began wiping their tears off their faces when they heard this. A snort of laughter was suddenly heard at the door. “Just because you can’t do anything doesn’t mean that others can’t. What right do you have to judge the abilities of the Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate?”

Chapter 8 Chapter 8

Everyone looked toward the voice’s direction and saw Chase standing at the door. “Who are you, young man?” Dr. Strickland’s face fell as he asked unhappily. “You don’t need to know who I am." Chase took a step forward and sniggered. “The old man in bed has two years more to live, but you’re claiming his time is up. That’s disregard for human life.” A stranger’s death had nothing to do with Chase, but this person had belittled the old man, and Chase had to do something about it. It was because Chase’s master had gone by the moniker of ‘The Medical Saint of Hell’s Gate’ when he was traveling the world, and Chase had inherited this title. He had the responsibility of defending the honor of this title. Dr. Strickland was enraged to hear Chase claim that he was disregarding human life. “What did you just say, you rascal?” Everyone turned to look at Chase coldly. The doctor’s name was Elijah Strickland, and he came from a family that had been in the medical industry for hundreds of years. He was known as the Medical Saint of Cloud City and had saved many lives. It was rumored that he had even treated the leader of the country before. However, this young man was doubting his abilities. “Sir, do you mean to say that… my grandfather can still be saved?” The young woman from before wiped away her tears and asked hopefully. “Of course.” Chase’s hands were in his pockets as he said, “If I'm the one treating him, your grandfather could live for another two years.”“What?” This astounded everyone. The young woman quickly said, “Sir, my name is Bianca Cooper. If you can save my grandfather, the Coopers will reward you handsomely!”“Hahaha!” Dr. Strickland suddenly laughed. “What an arrogant young man.”“Do you have any idea how profound and extensive medical knowledge is? It’s a never-ending lesson for those in medicine. I've spent half my life studying it and I’m only able to attain what minor abilities I have now.” He took a step forward and looked at Chase darkly. “You look like you’re in your early 20s. Even if you started studying medicine when you were in your mother’s womb, you’ll still only be considered new to medicine. Where did you get the confidence to engage in such wild talk?”“Dr. Strickland is right. My nephew has been studying medicine with a renowned doctor since young. He’s 30 now and still hasn’t been able to make a name for himself due to the high bar of medicine. "If that’s the way it is for him, what more could be said for this young man here? Is he a child genius or something?” A middle-aged man with a skinny face smiled with slight sarcasm. “It doesn’t matter if it’s traditional medicine or normal medical studies. It’s impossible for a boy his age to accomplish anything in medicine.” A pretty middle-aged woman in black-rimmed glasses sniggered. “My daughter is studying medicine at Harvard Medical School. She’s already 28 and is still an assistant to her lecturer.” Everyone else began to discuss this. It was clear that they believed Dr. Strickland and not Chase. “Did you hear that, Miss Cooper?” Dr. Strickland grunted coldly and looked at Bianca. “If you would rather believe him, then I suggest that you start planning elderly Mr. Cooper’s funeral.” The look on Bianca’s pretty face changed. “I’m sorry, Dr. Strickland, I was too naive. I was almost convinced by him.”“Get him out of here and stop him from spouting any more nonsense.”“He looks like he’s here to create trouble. Where’s security?" Many of them began saying unhappily. Bianca looked at Chase coldly. “Sir, please leave immediately or I’ll get security here.” Chase suddenly sighed. Someone sniggered. “What are you sighing for, young man?” Chase shook his head. “I’m sighing because it’s fate that this gentleman on the bed happened to meet me. I might've been able to save him on account of this. “Yet, not only have all of you disrespected me, but you're even threatening to throw me out. With a temper like mine, I should just leave. “But before I go, I want you to see for yourselves what I’m really capable of!”

Chapter 9 Chapter 9

A silver light flashed in his hand, and seven silver needles appeared. “Go!” Chase waved his arm, and the seven silver needles pierced into seven acupoints on the old man. Dr. Strickland was startled by this and exclaimed, “Did… Did you just move the needles through the void?!” After the seven needles pierced into the old man’s acupoints, a white light suddenly flashed from them, and the needles formed into the alignment of the Big Dipper. It was dazzling, looking like the starry sky. “Inscription for 10,000 years on your back, inscription for the seven stars on your chest. The Grim Reaper welcomes you now, but I can keep you here with us. “Awaken! If not now, when?!” Chase chanted those words. It sounded like they were the key to controlling life and death. The moment he finished the words, the old man on the bed who was supposed to be unconscious suddenly threw up blood that was black. After that, he began coughing violently. Everyone was silent. They were thunderstruck and froze in place. They looked like they had just seen a ghost. “Did… Did he just save Grandpa? How… How is that possible?” Bianca was stunned. She quickly exclaimed, “Grandpa…” The old man slowly opened his eyes and said weakly, “B-Bianca, I’m still alive? I dreamed that your grandmother came to take me with her…”“You’re still alive, Grandpa. Someone saved you.” Bianca was crying with joy. “This is wonderful. So wonderful.” Everyone quickly came forward. They were agitated as they showed concern over the old man. “It’s a return from death. He returned from the dead.” Dr. Strickland’s lips were trembling as he looked on in disbelief. He had been in medicine for decades, and this was the first time he had witnessed something like this. The old man looked at him and said, “Thank you for saving me, Dr. Strickland.” Dr. Strickland turned beet red. He quickly waved his hands. “No, no, it wasn’t me, Mr. Cooper. I wasn’t the one who saved you. It was someone else.”“That’s right, Grandpa. It was this miracle doctor who saved you,” Bianca said and pointed to the side. She became silent the next moment because Chase was gone. Her eyes widened as she looked around. “Wait a minute, where’s that gentleman?”“Huh? He was just here. Where did he go?”“Could he have left?” It was only then that everyone realized he had disappeared. They began looking for him. Just then, the old man suddenly fell heavily back into bed. He looked like he had died. “What’s wrong with you, Grandpa? Please don’t scare me…” Bianca became anxious. “Dr. Strickland, please take a look at my grandfather.” Dr. Strickland quickly came forward to give him a check-up. His expression changed. “Mr. Cooper’s pulse is very weak. He might… go at any time…”“How did it turn out this way? He was full of spirit just seconds before.”“I beg you, Dr. Strickland, please save him…” Everyone was panicking. They felt like they had just gone to heaven and fell straight down to hell. The look on Dr. Strickland’s face changed. “It must be that young man. He did not completely cure elderly Mr. Cooper.”“He must have done that to show what he's capable of and make us regret this. I was too blind to recognize what he truly was, a divine doctor who's able to create miracles.” He said somberly, “Everyone, it looks like only that young man will be able to save Mr. Cooper. You need to get his help regardless of the price! “If he's able to cure Mr. Cooper, I will ask him to accept me as his student!” Everyone looked depressed and regretful when they heard him say this. If they had not said such terrible things, that young man might have cured elderly Mr. Cooper. Bianca looked extremely pale. There was deep regret in her eyes as tears began to fall from them. It was only then that she realized how stupid she had been.
