“Are you going to sign it or not?" I could feel his heavy eyes on me as he spoke, my fingers grip the pen I was holding as my eyes fell on the contract scanning it for the millionth time. ”This is absolutely crazy, you know?" The words escaped my mouth before I could even think it over, and my fingers shook with hesitation. I expected him to snap at me again but he just shrugged his shoulders. “It is...” “Why me?... I have literally nothing to offer you wouldn't it be better if you give this to another woman?" There was silence for a moment then in his usual calm, monotone voice he said. ”It's exactly because you have nothing to lose that makes you perfect for this job.“ He was right, I thought as I finally placed the pen on the contract and in a few moments my signature was looking back at me. What had I done?I had just made a deal with a monster. If someone had told me over a month ago that I would be in this situation I would have laughed in their face but that was because I didn't know yet that my life was about to fall apart. I was the beloved heiress in my family's company and in a few weeks I was supposed to say ”I do“with my highschool sweetheart Clark. Life was as beautiful as it could be and that I never saw what was coming until I was hit, hard. ”Ugh! Where are my keys?" I was looking through my bedroom for my keys and then my fiance rolled on the bed staring at me with sleepy eyes. “Where are you rushing off so early in the morning?” Still ransaking the room I answered him. “I'm sorry I got a call from the office today that there's an emergency and I need to attend to it.” I said to him then finally turning and asking;“By the way have you seen my keys?" ” You mean this?" He said holding them up and I smiled;"Yes, please give it to me I need to get to work ASAP." As I reached for it, he swiped it away from my grasp. “Didn't you say we were going to spend today together? No work?” I sighed. “Well Clark that's what I planned too, but like I told you before it was an emergency.” “You know what? I'm not even surprised at this point." He pouted and just threw the key to me. ” With you, it's all work...work...work..“ I sighed again holding the keys. ” But you know exactly why I'm taking this so seriously. I am going to be the next CEO of the company. I can't slack off like other people....“ ” Well the movie tickets don't have waste, you can take Becky...“ ”Your annoying little sister? I'd rather go alone or not even go at all...“ Another heavier sigh left me, sometimes Clark could be such a charmer and some other times he was like this. I pecked him on his forehead and he didn't react and I just left. As I was passing the living room I saw my sister slouched on the couch and watching TV as always. She was practically allergic to hard work, and I seriously don't know how she graduated high school. The only thing she cared about was that she was receiving her allowance to spend thoughtlessly. ”Becky... I'm going to work, please try to keep Clark company.“ ” Why are you always leaving me with your annoying fiance?“ ” Clark is going to be your brother-in-law soon so you better just lump it in or like it."I told her and she just scoffed. “Whatever." She was so hopeless. A quick glance at my wrist watch showed me that I wasted more than enough time and I quickly rushed out to my car. 5 minutes later when I was almost at the company I remembered that I forgot some essential documents at home. Which meant that I had to go back and get it. I'm sure that when I get home Clark and Becky will probably pounce on each other like cat and mouse. And in a way I was right. As I was heading to my bedroom I was hearing heavy moans and a wet slapping sound from my bedroom, my stomach twisted up. I wondered if Becky had brought one of her boyfriends to my bedroom again. But then as I was approaching the threshold, I heard a voice that made me immediately freeze up in my steps. ”Agh, baby you're so f**king tight!" My heart sank to the floor as I shook my head with denial, it couldn't be...there was no way that... I took one unsteady step after another until I reached the open door. They had not even bothered to close it properly. There was my fiance and sister humping each other like wild rabbits. My heart shattered into uncountable pieces, how could they?and just a few weeks to the wedding. How long had they been sleeping together behind my back and pretending to hate each other in front of me? I felt so humiliated and embarrassed, how could they do this to me? They had to pay both of them. So I took my phone and then I began to take pictures of them but the mistake that I made was that I had not turned off the flash and then their eyes came to me. “Sarah...what are you doing here?" He really had the audacity to ask me. ”What am I doing here, what the hell are you doing with my own sister?!"I barked like a wild dog, charging at him and then he landed a hot slap on my face that sent me straight to the floor with a stinging bruise. “Clark...you slapped me?" I whimpered as tears rushed down my cheeks, I didn't wait for an answer as I got up and rushed out of the bedroom looking at the pictures I had taken of them. ”Clark, I'll make sure you regret this."
Chapter 2 Chapter 02
Ma'm the CEO wants to see you," I carried my eyes away from my laptop, to my secretary as I cooked up my left eyebrow. "My father wants to see me?" she nodded. "Don't worry, tell him I'll be there in about five minutes. I have a meeting right now." "Actually he told me to cancel your meeting, and that you have to come and see him right this minute" I wondered what was so urgent that my father would even have my secretary cancel my meeting. I guess there was only one way to find out. I got up and then made a beeline to my father's office and all along the way I could hear whispers from the cubicles of the officers that I passed by and how their eyes were on me. I had expected them to talk about my wedding that had been called off, but I didn't understand why they were doing it so intensely. Finally when I walked to the office I saw that my mother was also there. I went to both of them and saw that their eyes had become cold. Those were not the eyes that my parents often used to look at me, those were the ones they used to look at my freeloading sister. Why were those eyes now aimed at me? ”Mother... Father what's wrong-" I was barely able to complete the sentence before my mother walked over to me and before I could even figure out what was happening she slapped me so hard that I saw stars. “Mother?" I called to her in shock but then she raised her hand again. ”Don't mother me you senseless moron, do you know what you have done?" I looked at my father to make sure whether he saw what his wife had just done and he did not even look slightly troubled by it. “What is happening right now?" Without leaving his seat he crossed his hands, sending me a glare that was as sharp as the edge of a knife. ” Are you really going to play dumb, after humiliating us?" Humiliating? I was so lost... The last thing I ever did in my life was humiliating my parents. That was my younger sister's job. I was the one that always did well in everything from sports to academics all the way from school and when I graduated, I had started from the bottom of the company and gotten to the top without asking my father to give me any special favors. What could I have possibly done that would have humiliated them? I froze up when my father turned his laptop to face me and then I saw the picture of my sister and ex fiance in bed that I had posted online on the cover of a gossip blog. “There were a million and one ways you could have dealt with this Sarah, but you had to choose the one that would bring shame to this family..." he said to me in an icy tone. ”Father I do-" “Shut up!"my mother shouted at me and her voice was cracking. ” Just because of a man, you leaked your sister's nudes to the public, do you know the kind of comments she is getting now? She even had to turn off her social media and she has been crying nonstop...“ Was this really happening, I asked myself? My heart was beating so much that I thought it was going to break through my ribs somehow. I was now the villain in the story. Nobody was talking about the fact that she had been sleeping with my fiance and both of them had been making a fool of me! ”Sarah...“My father called my attention to him. ” I always thought that you were exceptional but I cannot have a heartless person like you who can even take down her sister for petty reasons as my heiress..." “Petty?! Father, she slept with my fiance!" ” And so what?“ ”And so what?"I repeated after him, totally bewildered, my fingers sunk into my palm so deeply that I thought they were going to draw blood. So basically he was saying that I had no right to react to what they had done to their betrayal. “You had no reason to betray your sister like that, Sarah, and if you at least want to keep your job in this company. You will have to make a public apology to her first.” That was where it finally got to my neck, there was no way I could take this anymore. “I would rather die father, than apologize to Becky. Keep your stupid company I don't need any of you!" ”Sarah!" I kept marching ignoring him as he called me but then he said something that made me freeze at the door. “If you leave this minute without accepting to apologize to your sister for your own wrongdoing you will cease to be a member of this family," A cold, dry chuckle suddenly passed through my lips as I replied. ”And so what?" And like that I marched out of the office, however after I left the company my father seized my house since the property was under his name and then he blacklisted me to the full city so much so that I struggled to even get the job of a waitress. I was fed up. It was all like a terrible dream, a nightmare that never seemed to end. Then to add salt to my wounds my sister came over, tracking me down to my pigs dine apartment to invite me to her and my ex fiance's wedding. I could no longer take it anymore. Life was bleak and empty, everywhere I went to tongues with wag and people would point their fingers at me laughing out their lungs. There was no point in living anymore, and so on a cold night, I wrote a letter of farewell and went outside like a zombie. Ready to end it all.
Chapter 3 Chapter 03
Sarah's POV As I was walking on the road a car zoomed past me splashing puddle water on my body, then I rushed in after the car yelling loudly and pouring curses on the driver. Just then I heard the horn of a car and my head snapped behind me. The lights of the car were getting closer and the horn was about to make my ears explode but my legs were not moving a single inch at all. What was the point? Suddenly the blinding light turned off like a switch that had flicked, for a moment my whole body was numb then I could suddenly feel everything. The pain gript my entire being when my eyelid peeled open, the metallic taste of blood was in my mouth and I could not even twitch a finger. The driver that had hit me only parked for a few seconds, then suddenly the door was flung open but then nobody stepped out. Suddenly the door slams shut again and the driver just zoomed past me. When the hit and run driver abandoned me to my fate, I didn't even curse him... There was no point in my existence anymore, and whoever had been behind that wheel had helped me to finally end it all. As my eyes were closing up again another car parked in front of me, and as the person was stepping out, my eyelids were too heavy to stay open making me finally closed them. Now I could rest, instead of facing my problems. “Honestly I don't think she's going to survive...” Someone's voice penetrated my ears, is this some kind of dream? Was I still alive?! “She will,”A firm, deep voice filtered into my ears. “What makes you so sure sir?" ”Her ey-“ Suddenly his voice froze, then he continued speaking with the same smoothness. ” There's something I forgot at the office, I'll need to go and take care of it." I heard footsteps that were soon concluded with the slamming of a door, I let out a little sigh of relief as they both le- “How long are you going to pretend to be sleeping?" I gasped. I thought the man with the velvet voice had left, how could he possibly know that I wa- ” I can see your eyes twitching so your act isn't fooling me.“ Reculantly, but steadily I peeled my eyes to see a pair of sharp, icy ones gazing at me. The owner of those icy blue eyes was a broad shoulder, tall male wearing a suit and a commanding aura around him. ”You've made me wait for quite a while, Sarah Lane.“ That was the moment that I met Hayden Smith. I had heard about him, he was one the youngest CEOs in the country and also one of the most successful ones. But he had a very mysterious and dark reputation with all sorts of rumors always about him which initially made a lot of people reluctant to work with him, including my family, but yet he had still become a formidable force to deal with. What interest does such a man have in me? a former heiress that had been tossed away like trash.I had wondered but he told me that he would only tell me what he wanted after I got better. I had just laughed. ” What's so funny about what I said?" He asked me in his usual calm confident tone. “I'm not going to get better...” “Don't worry about that, the medical facilities in this hospital are one of the best in the cou-” “That's not what I mean..." I had said cutting into his words as I turned my head on the pillow and slowly brought my fingers together two fold them on my stomach, my entire body was covered up with bandages. ” The doctors might be able to fix my broken bones and the cuts on my body but they can't heal the pain in my heart... So what's even the point of still living?" I expected him to break into some kind of motivational speech, telling me that my life was too valuable to throw away or something like that. “Ok then do you have a way of refunding the medical bills that I already paid for you?" My eyes widened up like saucepans as I looked at him. ” I never asked you to bring me to the hospital in the first place, that was your choice! So don't blame me for wasting your time and money...“ I could feel the tears streaming down my cheeks. ” Even if I sold everything I had now, I wouldn't be able to pay for painkillers, so you're not going to get anything out of helping me... I don't know how you know my name but my family has nothing to do with me anymore...“ My eyes fell to the floor. ” I'm nothing more than a worthless nobody now... nothing, what could I give you?" He was silent for a while just scrutinizing me then he said. “Well answering your previous question, you are actually quite more popular than you think, Sarah Lane, and that scandal with your sister and ex fiance has really gone around the business circles, so of course I would know about you...then on to you saying you can't do anything to repay me...” His voice became lower. “I'm afraid that isn't true at all... What if I told you there was a deal where you could repay me and get back at all the people who put you in this condition...?” My curiosity peaked. “What kind of deal is that?" I could not help it that he had piqued my curiosity, and I wanted to know. ” It's quite simple actually and it will benefit both of us...“ He began to take slow, steady and powerful steps towards me. The air became thicker as he approached me and said. ”Marry me, Sarah Lane.“
Chapter 4 Chapter 04
Sarah's pov “Marry me?” I laughed so hard that my ribcage began to ache, which did not really take longer because the car that had hit me had obviously broken some of them. “Are you done yet or do you want to keep on going?" ” Actually I think I'll keep going because this has to be one of the funniest jokes of the century...“ Hayden Smith, one of the most notorious Playboys of the country, wanted to settle down and of all people he chose the rejected heiress. It was really worth cracking a few more ribs. ” Is this your way of mocking me?“ ” Do I look like a man that plays around? I am being 100% serious right now?" I tried to sit up but my body ached too much to allow me so I just lay down again, blinking at him with utter astonishment. “Your reputation aside, we don't even know each other!”I said to him and he just sighed. “Are you saying that you don't know THE Hayden Smith?" Wow this guy is really full of himself wasn't he? I had thought. ” Well I know who you are from the news and the several articles that come out about you, and what some business partners have said about you...But this is the first time I am even talking with you; they are basically strangers.“ He didn't even seem like he was slightly troubled by my complaint and they just seem to go over his head in such a casual way that it astonished me. I had always wondered what this man would be like because I always heard about him but I never got the privilege to meet him in person, and now that I finally have it's easy to confirm that he's actually just crazy. ” Marriage is not some game that strangers can play together, it's something that only two people that love and care about each other can even think about-“ ” Just the way your fiance loved and cared about you?“ I thought the remaining color in my face immediately drained out after he said that and then anything else I wanted to say was choked down in my throat as I struggled not to cry. ” Miss Lane, you are a business woman so you understand how this thing works. I have something you want and you have something I want so let's help each other...“ Looking away from him so that he would not see the tears that were bubbling up at the side of my eyes I asked him. ”And what exactly do you want that is making you go so far?" “That...”,He paused,"...is none of your business, Miss Lane, what should concern you is how to get back at the people who hurt you... Of course I can't force you.“ Suddenly I felt something soft dabbing on my cheek. I turned to see him putting his handkerchief in pocket. ”But I advise you to think about this, Miss Lane.“ And now he was looking at the contract with a satisfied expression. ” You have made a good choice...“there wasn't a smile on his face but I guess that's as far as he could get. ”...My dear wife.“ There was a way he said it that sent shivers up my back, and he carefully folded it into his front pocket. ”Won't you finish your food?"he asked with his usual monotone voice. He reserved an entire 5-star hotel, they're just for me to come here and sign the contract. This place was almost impossible to reserve and despite her wealth in my family it was always a battle for me to grab a table here. Yet, he had reserved the whole place with such ease. Even if I had not been rejected by my family, their wealth would have been nothing to him. The same question that always troubled me came to my mind again; what would this man gain from marrying me? That night he drove me to his mansion and then he said to me, “I'll be going on a business trip now.” A business trip? Now of all times? “Aren't we supposed to be planning now? You promised me that I would be able to get my revenge..” He groaned with his full chest, as if he wanted to throw me out of the car. “You won't be able to do much like this...” He said looking down at my crutches. “So you should be focused on recovery now while I'm on my business trip,” He made a good argument and I could not say anything against it, I couldn't imagine myself dramatically walking back into their lives with crutches. “So when you are fully recovered and I'm back from my business trip then we can begin to really plan.” He suddenly cocked his eyebrows. “Do you have any other issues with my idea?" ” Well I still don't understand why you are helping me with all of this... And even if it's in my favor it's really troubling me,“ Suddenly silence took over the car as he just looked at me with” piercing blue eyes '', it was as if the air in the car was being sucked out and I was finding it hard to breathe. “I believe I have already told you that that is none of your business,” I could see that he was trying to intimidate me but this was not something I could allow to rest anymore. “Well, you also said that our relationship is basically a business transaction and when you are transacting in a business, both parties should obviously be aware of what the other is gaining. That's what I'm just curious about...” He didn't reply immediately, as if he was weighing his answer then he spoke. “Has anyone ever told you that you are too sharp for your own good," ”Maybe a couple of times.“ ”Then I'll tell you, but not now..." “When then?" He leaned over and whispered. ”On our official wedding night."
Chapter 5 Chapter 05
Hayden's POV “So, the first phase of your plan is now finally complete, congratulations man...” My best friend said sipping his glass of whiskey, the hotel bar was becoming stuffier by the second I knew we should have reserved this place but my best friend had insisted that we didn't because he wanted to find some cheap girl to pick up for the night. “It's hardly time to even begin celebrating, I'm still very far from what I actually want, Ray.”“Well the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step my dear friend...” he said as he signaled the attacks will refill his glass again. “But why did you lie to her that you were going on a business trip?" I knew that he was eventually going to ask this question. ” There's no need for me to be around her if she isn't going to be of use to me yet.“I replied the same glass of whiskey that I had been holding while my friend was on his third. ”True, true...“He nodded. ” But that doesn't really answer my question: why did you have to tell her you were going somewhere else when you were just going to be in town?“ ”Does that even matter?" I groaned. “I didn't know that you just called me here for a long interview if I did I would have just remained in bed,” After I said that, a sudden silence penetrated the both of us in the midst of our conversation. “Hayden I'm worried about you, how can you even keep going on with this when you can't stand to be in the same room as that woman? Can't you just let it go? You don't need to...” “This is the last time we're going to be having this conversation, you should know that I can never let go of this...” My fingers gripped the glass in their grasp with all but enough force to shatter it into pieces. “Even if I wanted to forget about it every single night every SINGLE night, for the past 19 years I've dreamt about it... I was relieved the day that my entire life went into flames." My hands were now shaking with fury as flashes of that terrible day came to my mind when I was nothing more than a child. They didn't say anything about the dark world that surrounded him. ”Hayden...“ My friend's grip on my shoulder brought me back to the present. I shook off his hand. ” You can keep drinking by yourself but I'm going to bed now,“ He suddenly grabbed me by my arm. ” Now where do you think you're running off to without a cute chick to warm up your bed?" “I can't...” “Why? are you married now?" He said in a joking tone. ”Yes,“I said simply. His eyes widened up as if they were going to pop right out of their sockets. ” That was one of the few conditions that she stated in the contract- We would not cheat on each other...“ I said to him getting off the bar stool. ”I'll see you later then.“ Sarah Lane. Well now *officially* Sarah Smith, but she will only remain as my wife on paper and nothing else. After all, she was nothing more than a master pawn for my plan and that was exactly what she would remain. All that was left was for her to recover fully so the next phase of my plan would go into motion. As I was about to rest my head on my pillow the ringing of my phone brought me back to full consciousness again, I groaned who was disturbing my sleep so late at nig- ”Sorry, have you slept?“ Oh, it was my *wife* ” I was about to when I got a sudden unexpected call...“I could not help the tone of irritation that slipped into my voice as I spoke to her. She either didn't notice it or maybe she just chose to ignore it, either way I was relieved that she didn't ask. ” I just wanted to ask how your flight was...“ I glanced at the clock. It was already thirty minutes after one. Had she actually stayed up this late just to ask me how my *flight* was? ”It was as comfortable as any first class flight would be, anything else?" “Have you eaten?" As if on cue my stomach growled as she asked that question. ”I guess not, you should get something to eat.“ My fingers gripped the phone tight, just hearing her voice alone was enough to make my blood boil and force my stomach to twist up. ” It's already late, there's no point in doing that now...“ Why was I given to explaining myself to her in the first place at all? I felt like punching myself. ” Look, Sarah, I think there are some things we need to make clear and some boundaries that need to be established...“ ”Go on...“she probed me ”This is not a real marriage..."I stated clearly. "In case that was not clear to you before, note that I did not ask you to sign that contract because I was interested in you, honestly you are not even my type of lady...“ I was expecting her to become provoked but she was still listening to me calmly and that made my blood boil even more. ” So what are you trying to say with all this?"She asked me and I said without missing a beat. “We are only husband and wife on paper and nothing else, so there is no need to call me in the early hours of the morning to ask whether I had a good flight or if I've eaten... Such sentimental courtesy doesn't need to exist between us.” After I said this she just sighed. “Even so, we are not enemies are we? asking how you are shouldn't be overstepp-" I cut the call at that moment. This woman. I needed to teach her her place.
Chapter 6 Chapter 06
Sarah. "Hello…" My voice echoed again, but instead, I got no reply. It immediately dawned on me that he ended the call seconds ago. Taking a deep breath, I fell down back on the huge bed, while facing the ceiling and rolling my hands around to feel the emptiness of it. What was the essence of sleeping all alone in such huge bed, when I have no one by my side, and even now my contract husband keeps acting weird and pushing me away. My thoughts suddenly drifted off too Clark, and my grip on the bed spread tightened. I found a tear escaping through the corners of my eyes, as I recalled what he did to me. Most especially my sister Becky. I trusted her, and spoilt her so much that I never imagined she would ever betray me this way. Suddenly, I felt my throat dry up, and I instantly sat up back on the bed. Reaching for my crutches, I got up from the bed and started towards the door because I needed a glass of water. I could have easily just reached for the bell on the table close to me and a maid would come running the next second, but since I was little, I found happiness in doing things myself without help. I reached for the stairs, and when I was standing in front of the refrigerator, a tiny voice behind me nearly forced the living soul out of my body. "I'm sorry ma'am, I wasn't trying to scare you." The voice came again, making me turn back to see a maid standing behind me. "Gosh." I sighed, touching my chest. "It's fine." I immediately replied, and went back to filling the glass with water halfway. Once I was done, I gulped down the whole content, smiled at the young lady, and headed back to the room. Once I walked back into the room, I heard my phone binged and hurried towards it. Unlocking it, my eyes nearly fell out when I saw a message from Hayden. It says, "Sleep early, and don't forget your drugs." I had to flutter my brows multiple times before I realized it wasn't a dream, and the message was looking back at me. A smile slightly escaped my lips, and I fell down on the bed in excitement. "So somebody really does care about me." *** The harsh sun rays which reflected through the window woke me up from bed very early in the morning, and when I opened those tired eyes of mine, I felt so brand new again. Sleeping on a bed so comfortable even better than the one I had back then, was what I needed to get my mental health back on track, and when I reached for my crutches to go take a quick bath, the door was rasped with a knock before I heard it creaked opened. "Ma'am, your breakfast is ready." The maid who walked in informed. "Thank you. I'll be down in a minute." I replied, and then started towards the bathroom, but she stopped me immediately. "I'll prepare a bath for you ma'am, please take a seat." I was forced to sit back on the bed, and relax even when I was reluctant to do so. I smiled, watching her get the job done before she came out. "Thank you." I said, almost immediately before she could walk out of the room. She smiled back at me, and then lowered her head in respect. "Mr Hayden informed earlier to take you out and get you new things you'll need for your stay here." My eyes widened in surprise as I watched her mouth do the talking. "He said that? When?" I asked, beaming with joy as I wondered why he was being so sweet to me. Was this really the same man I saw when I spranged my eyes open in the hospital. "Yesterday, before leaving.""Alright, thank you." She turned politely, and then walked out of the room the next second. As she closed the door behind, my hands found my cheeks, as I could feel it burning crimson red. I took in a deep breath, and cleared my throat in order to remind myself that this was only a contract marriage, and falling in love wasn't part of the deal. "But, how can I help it when he's being so nice" I heard a part of my subconscious mind blurt silently. "He isn't your real husband Sarah, at least get that into your fucking brain." I caution myself, before slightly, and painlessly tapping my cheek to bring myself back to reality. Saying this, and sticking it into my brain as well, I took my crutches and then walked into the bathroom. Feeling the warm water kiss my kiss, I let out an heavy groan as it felt like ages since I took a nice bath again. The fragrance of the soapy water was one that I've never inhaled before, and I wondered if there was only one of its kind in the world. My tensed body relaxed to feel the warm water do it's magical trick on my body. It took me exactly 20 minutes before I walked out of the bathroom, and I only did that after continuously reminding myself that I had somewhere to be. I stepped out, and just when the thought of something to wear crossed my mind, my eyes fell the bed and I saw a yellow dress waiting for me. I smiled, and then walked towards it picking it up in my hands. "Beautiful." My mind screamed to me, and minutes later, I was staring at myself in a beautiful tight yellow gown that brought out my curves, especially my plumb breast and made me look like Sarah lane once again. I picked up a brush, and then arranged my hair neatly before packing it in a ponytail style. "How do I look?" I blurted out, still admiring myself in the full length sized mirror hung on the wall, before realising no one was in the room. "Oh." Came to my mind next, when I turned to look back. It finally dawned on me that my sister was no longer with me, and I had no one to praise me for my extraordinary looks as well as beauty whenever I was done dolling myself up. Sighing heavily, I heard a knock on the door. "Come in." The same maid walked in, but this time she was dressed in a blue jean pant, and a tank top with it. "Are you ready ma'am." She asked. "Yes, I am. Come on, let's go." I said, but when I walked past her, she refused to take a step. "Are you okay?" I managed to ask, even though I was still slightly feeling down. "I admire your beauty a lot ma'am. You look extraordinary." She said. I ended up with a chuckle, shyly looking away for a second. "Thank you. What's your name?" Why do I get this feeling that she's gonna play a huge part in my life. As I stared at her, I couldn't help but stop smiling back. "Kira." She replied. "Alright Kira, thank you for the compliment. Now, we have to hurry." I said, and then walked out of the room smiling all the way down the stairs. The limousine halted in a famous shopping mall, one that caught my attention immediately as this was where I would go out with Becky to spend extravagantly on her whenever I was free. Though, the shopping mall reminded me a lot of Becky, but I was soon able to discard all thought about her when I saw Kira waving back at me. We both walked in together, and once again, I was happy seeing expensive things around me. "Please, wait here ma'am." Kira Informed me. "Call me Sarah, Kira." She shook her head in disagreement at first, but when I nodded again, she agreed. "Alright Mrs Sarah." She said, and then walked away. I watched her head towards the counter, but when I looked away to stare at somewhere else, Becky came to my view. My hands curled into fist, to an extent that it felt like I was drawing blood from them. I stood shocked, watching her pick up some expensive bags with her friends. So many feelings surged through my body, feelings that I couldn't explain. "Was it hate, or love". I found myself asking no one in particular but myself. The next minute before I thought of heading towards Becky, Kira came to me. "Are you ready?" She asked, but I was too busy staring so intensively at my sister. Then, I heard a loud microphone speak, "All buyers evacuate the building. We're sorry for the inconvenience, but we have a special guest in here that would like to be alone. All your money will be refunded, and the items will be given to each and every one of you for free in courtesy of our special guest." My mind wondered who this special guest was, but as I was about to turn and walk away like one of the sales woman had instructed, Kira held me back, and informed, "You are the special guest Mrs Sarah Smith."
