The Day I Died, My Boyfriend Was With Another Woman

On the day I died, my boyfriend was with another woman. He was a man I had rescued from the clutches of rich women. My condition was for him to be my boyfriend for three years, and he agreed. I showered him with money, resources, and connections, single-handedly making him famous. Yet, while he told me we could not date publicly, he casually engaged in fake romance rumors with others for publicity. One of his rumored girlfriends even came to me with a voice message. "If it weren’t for using her as a stepping stone, who would bother with someone so dull and boring?" But after I died, why did he go mad?

Chapter 1 Chapter 1

I left the hospital, holding the lab report the doctor had given me. He told me I did not have much time left. It was a hereditary illness, one without a cure. As I pulled out my phone, the latest news popped up on my screen. "Top star spotted holding hands with a rising actress late at night." I scrolled through the comments below, half-interested. Some fans supported it, but most were strongly opposed. When my driver arrived to pick me up, I put away the report. Once I finished handling things here, I planned to go abroad for treatment. I sent a message to Felix Johnson, asking where he was and if he had time to come home. I waited about half an hour with no response. I called him several times, but unsurprisingly, each one went straight to voicemail. Sighing, I set my phone down and rubbed my head. The driver tried to reassure me, saying that Mr. Johnson was probably busy and would return my call when he had a moment. I couldn’t help but scoff. "What a busy guy, huh? Even busier than me, the CEO. He can’t even pick up his phone all day." I told the driver, "Stop calling him Mr. Johnson. Just call him Felix from now on. It’s time he fixed his attitude." When I finally got home, the "busy guy" returned my call. I asked where he was, and he said he was at a celebration banquet. The background noise was deafening. Before I could finish talking, he hung up on me. I waited for him, sitting on the couch downstairs until the next morning, when he finally came home. The moment he walked in, he tried to hug me, but I pushed him away. "Go take a shower. You reek of alcohol and perfume. It’s disgusting." He sniffed himself, then went off to shower. When he came back out, he was wrapped in a towel, his hair still dripping wet. He threw a towel at me and asked, "Can you dry my hair?" I knew he was trying to play the soft card. Every time a scandal came up, he would come back and sweet-talk me, waiting for the buzz around his show to grow before clearing things up. I always fell for these little tricks, so I never stayed truly mad at him. But this time, I refused. He sat down next to me and wrapped his arm around me. "Let’s not fight anymore, okay? My career is just starting to take off, and there are so many social events I can’t get out of." I pushed him away, sitting across from him, ready to have a serious talk. Just as I was about to speak, he yawned and said he was tired and that we could talk after he woke up. After he went upstairs, I smiled bitterly to myself. "See, this is the ungrateful, heartless man I made famous with my own hands." His phone was still on the table. He had not taken it upstairs with him. It buzzed with several new messages. I thought about checking, but realized he had changed the lock screen password. I put the phone down, changed into more comfortable clothes, and headed upstairs to get some rest. But when I went into the laundry room, I found a hotel room key in his dirty clothes, with a lipstick stain on it. Anger overtook me before I could think. I stormed upstairs and shook Felix awake. He groggily tried to pull me into his arms, wanting to continue sleeping.

Chapter 2 Chapter 2

I forcibly woke him up and asked what was going on with the hotel room key. At that point, he was already starting to get irritated. "What room key?" I showed him the key. He casually tossed it into the trash and said, without a care, "It’s probably from some actress during a game or something." He tried to pull me back into bed with him. But I grabbed my blanket and left the room. …… By the time he woke up, it was already evening, and I had just returned from the office. I asked if we could finally have a serious talk. He sat down, motioning for me to go ahead. "Felix, I want to go public with our relationship. This secret romance is exhausting." It was like I had stepped on a landmine. He immediately exploded. "No way! This is the peak of my career. How could I go public with a relationship? If the fans find out, all my hard work will be for nothing!" I did not understand. He could not go public with me, yet he could have rumors swirling about him and o

Chapter 3 Chapter 3

I had not come to see Felix in the first place, so after exchanging a few words, I was ready to leave. But just as I stepped out, I was stopped. "Was it you? You’re the one who made the director replace me as the lead actress, aren’t you?" I had not expected the director to move so quickly. Her voice was loud, and the other actors overheard, sticking their heads out to watch. "Wow, she crossed the wrong person this time. One word from her, and the lead actress is out." Even Felix could not believe it. He asked if it was true. I was done with the back and forth and admitted it outright that it was me. Zia was hysterical and asked why I did it. That role was something she had worked so hard to get. Not wanting to let the others hear, I gave a look to the crew nearby, and they cleared everyone out. The three of us went back into the room. Looking down at Zia, I told her this was the consequence of provoking me. Clearly, Felix had not known anything about it.

Chapter 4 Chapter 4

After wrapping up filming, Felix came home and apologized to me for everything that had happened. "Just wait a little over a year, Emma. I promise I’ll go public with our relationship." I shook my head and said, "Do whatever you want." Later, someone messaged him, inviting him to hang out. He glanced at me, his eyes silently asking for permission. "Go ahead," I told him. What he did not tell me was that the gathering allowed plus-ones, but he did not mention it. I had not deleted Zia from my contacts, and when I woke up the next morning, I saw a video she had sent me. "Truth or Dare." Felix chose "Truth," and someone asked what his relationship with me was. "She’s just the girl next door." Everyone laughed and accused him of lying, telling him to take a drink. He pouted, annoyed, then answered again. "If it weren’t for using her as a stepping stone, who would bother with someone so dull and boring?""Wow, you’re more ruthless than we thought. But th
