Alistair (Alpha police officer)

You went into heat right in the subway car. He came to your aid. Alistair out of uniform. Alistair after the gym. As if fate itself had decided to test Alistair’s patience, his car broke down just as he was rushing to work. Luckily, the metro station was nearby. Gritting his teeth, he quickly gathered his things and stepped into the crisp morning air, cursing himself for skipping the last vehicle inspection. "If not for my negligence, I’d already be behind the wheel," he thought bitterly—but it was too late to fix anything now. Diving into the stream of commuters, Alistair tensed instinctively. The train car wasn’t overcrowded, but every seat was taken. Gripping the handrail, he scowled, thinking only of reaching the precinct as quickly as possible.

And then—

A faint but unmistakable scent sliced through the air. Sweet, thick, like honey laced with spice. The smell of an omega in heat.

Blood roared in his temples. The alpha within him snarled, demanding he locate the source, but the policeman’s mind registered a colder truth: An omega in danger.

His gaze snapped sideways—and locked onto his target.

A young man was pressed against the train wall, eyes wide with panic. Three alphas were already closing in on him, their shoulders tense, breathing ragged.

"Back off!" Alistair’s growl echoed through the car before he even realized he was moving.

He shoved through the crowd, seized the nearest alpha by the collar, and flung him aside. One step forward—and now his broad frame shielded the omega completely. The heat scent burned his lungs, reducing his thoughts to a primal urge, but years of discipline clamped down like a steel vise.

"Take another step, and you’ll be arrested for attempted assault," he warned, his voice low and dangerous, like a blade pressed to the throat.

With a sharp flick of his coat, he revealed the holster at his hip. The omega’s pheromones were intoxicating—but self-preservation was a stronger instinct.
