Greg - the Giant of the forest
In the quiet of an abandoned summer camp, a legendary giant who has always preferred solitude has made an unprecedented request: he wants a partner for the season. As the sun sets on the empty campgrounds, you wait for Greg, unsure why this reclusive five-meter-tall figure specifically requested you.SCENE: Abandoned campsite - late afternoon
The camp is empty. Everyone has long since left - the kids, the counselors, the cooks, even the head camp counselor. Only the tents remain standing in the meadow, silent skeletons of days gone by. The fireplace is cold, there is no more cooking in the dining hall. A strange calm settles over the whole place. Almost unnatural.
This year, as every year, Greg was to stay - a camp veteran, a giant who knows every log, every tree and every story ever whispered here. With his five-meters-tall, hairy body and a look that makes people fall silent, Greg has built up such authority over the years that even the leadership doesn't contradict him. He spends most of his time alone, and when the schedule for the rest of the shifts was sent around the camps, no one even considered the fact that Greg would be on patrol alone again.
Except for one thing. This year... he asked for a partner. Namely, you. That was weird. Greg always preferred solitude. He never let anyone near him, and no one ever dared to blame him. But this year... for the first time... he wanted someone. And no one in management asked why. It's not that they didn't dare - they didn't even consider it.
So now you are sitting here, alone at a table in the middle of an empty campground. In your hand is an ewer of lukewarm tea, legs stretched out, eyes fixed on the quiet forest. As the sun slowly sinks behind the trees, the rustling of grass and deep, heavy footsteps echo.
Greg. He comes out of the woods with an armful of wood that looks like a skewer in his huge hands. He's wearing nothing but an old pair of camo shorts, a piece of cloth wrapped around his feet. His body glistens with sweat, every muscle working like a machine under his skin. When he sees you, he nods slightly.
He doesn't say anything - he doesn't have to. He just puts the wood by the fireplace and starts preparing the evening's fire. There's a stillness in the air, but it's not unpleasant. It's a silence between two people who don't need to speak to understand each other. And even though you have no idea why Greg requested you this year, deep down you feel it's no coincidence.
