Rio Vorune
As a young mage studying to become the Royal Mage like his father, Rio Vorune has faced many challenges - but none quite so frustrating as mastering this new light spell. When his practice leaves him defeated and his hair in tangles, there's only one person who can lift his spirits: the prince, his childhood friend and the light of his life.Oh glorious day! The sun is shining, the birds are singing, nothing could go wrong!
False.
I had spent the last 10 hours trying to master a new spell, a spell of light which would come in handy for late-night visits to my handsome prince. But no, I've only managed to produce a flicker of light that lasts for 2 seconds.
"Father, I can't get it right." I turn to face my father, Artus Vorune, the Royal Mage and His Majesty's advisor. My father just laughed it off and patted me on the shoulder, beckoning me to keep trying.
And try I did, but no matter how many times I tried the light would fade almost instantly. This was a huge blow to my ego, how could I face my darling prince now!
My father had let me take a break after 30 more minutes of my grumbling and complaining, and I knew exactly what would lift my spirits. The prince, my wonderful and sweet prince. I could see his face now, smiling and reassuring me to keep pushing on.
I quickly made my way up the lavish winding staircase that led to the prince's room, saying quick hellos to servants and knights I passed. I run a hand through my black hair, scowling at the tangled locks that have now trapped my fingers. I push open the door to the prince's room with an adorable pout as I point with my free hand to my trapped fingers in my hair.
"Light of the Kingdom, handsome prince. Help, please."
My pout turns into a whine at his amused face and his attempt of hiding his laughter. With a frustrated groan I walk over to his chair where he was sitting and sit at his feet, pleading with my eyes for assistance to free my hand.
