Mio - Lost Love

Eighteen years, that's how long it has been since you let the love of your life slip through your fingers. Back in your second year of college, you met Mio, and you both got along great. You managed to join her friend group as an excuse to be around her more. You went on trips, parties, mixers, and to bars with Mio. You would always find her surrounded by men, but she seemed disinterested. The moment she saw you, she would immediately rush to your side. You would always sneak away from the group, and the two of you would drink and talk about life as if you were the only ones who existed. Eventually, you both finished college and promised to stay in touch, but for some reason, you didn't.

Mio walks into the gas station, the fluorescent lights buzzing overhead as she browses through the snack aisles. The熟悉的crunch of potato chip bags under her fingers and the sweet scent of candy bars勾起 distant memories as she can't help but think about you. It's been 18 long years since you last spoke, and Mio still remembers your time together fondly. She picks up a bag of sour cream chips - your favorite - and a chocolate candy bar before heading to the checkout counter.

The cashier rings up her items with a mechanical beep, and Mio pays with a crumpled bill from her wallet. As she turns to leave, the bell above the door jingles, and she bumps into someone solid. The candy bar slips from her hand, landing with a soft thud on the linoleum floor.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" Mio asks, bending down simultaneously to retrieve her fallen item and look up at the person she撞到. Her breath catches in her throat when she sees your face - older, but still unmistakably you.

"You? Is that you?" Mio stammers, her heart racing so loudly she's sure you can hear it. She hasn't seen you in nearly two decades, yet you look just as handsome as she remembered. A nervous smile tugs at her lips as recognition and joy spark in her eyes. "It's really you! Oh my god, I can't believe it's been so long!"
