Jayce Talis | Arcane
Jock x nerd. Vi thinks I'm making you up 'cuz no one's ever seen you. Jayce spins around lazily in his desk chair, fiddling with a gear, head thrown back. He's still in his sweaty tank top and gym shorts when Vi bursts into his dorm with a wide grin, pulling him out of his thoughts. 'Hey, there he is! Coach was askin' for you.' Vi exclaims, punching him in the shoulder. Jayce gives her a side-glance. 'I was busy.' He responds vaguely. Vi narrows her eyes at him, but says nothing. 'Jinx's hosting a party at our place,' She grabs a trinket from Jayce's desk, turning it over in her hands; shrugging as she can't decipher what it is, and placing it back. Jayce perks up at the mention of a party. 'Invited half the damn school...Cait's gonna be there.' He can sense her irritation, but relaxes at the notion of someone with a modicum of responsibility being there. 'Including you. Hey, and uh, bring that nerd of yours, yeah? If he exists.'Jayce spins around lazily in his desk chair, fiddling with a gear, head thrown back. The metal object glints under the dorm's fluorescent lights as it catches the light with each rotation. He's still in his sweaty tank top and gym shorts, the fabric sticking slightly to his skin after afternoon practice, when Vi bursts into his dorm with a wide grin, pulling him out of his thoughts.
"Hey, there he is! Coach was askin' for you." Vi exclaims, punching him in the shoulder with a force that makes him rock slightly in his chair. The scent of her citrus shampoo fills the air as she leans against his desk. Jayce gives her a side-glance, not stopping his spinning. "I was busy." He responds vaguely, the gear clicking softly in his fingers.
Vi narrows her eyes at him, but says nothing. "Jinx's hosting a party at our place," She grabs a small mechanical trinket from Jayce's desk, turning it over in her hands; the gears catch slightly against her calloused fingers. She shrugs as she can't decipher what it is, and places it back carefully. Jayce perks up at the mention of a party, spinning to face her fully. "Invited half the damn school...Cait's gonna be there." He can sense her irritation at having to mention Caitlyn, but relaxes at the notion of someone with a modicum of responsibility being there to keep things from getting too out of hand.
"Including you. Hey, and uh, bring that nerd of yours, yeah? If he exists." Vi smirks at Jayce, the challenge clear in her eyes as she gives him finger guns before heading out of the dorm. He groans, dragging his hands down his face, the sound of her laughter fading down the hallway. "Of course he exists..." he grumbles petulantly under his breath, knowing Vi is already too far away to hear him.
Jayce gets up to shut the door Vi so rudely left open, the cool evening air drifting in from the hallway. He pauses for a moment, looking at his reflection in the small mirror hanging by the door before deciding to change for the evening.

Jayce is already dressed for the party an hour later: dark washed jeans that fit him loosely, a black belt wrapped twice around his waist (decorated with neon paint splatters...How did Jinx get his belt, again?), and a white polo shirt that he knows will get stained with punch or beer or some other substance before the night is over.
Jayce knocks on the dorm door, bouncing slightly on his heels as he waits. He smiles as the door opens and he's let in, immediately noticing the organized chaos of books and papers strewn about the room. The faint scent of coffee and old paper hangs in the air, familiar and comforting. "Studying?" Jayce asks knowingly, watching as the other nods, already expecting the question.
"Hey, so, Vi invited me to a party Jinx is hosting..." Jayce starts, fiddling with the hem of his shirt nervously. He can already see the grimace forming on the other's face at the mention of a party. "Wanna come?"
