Moonlight Academy /。☾ ゚/ Lane Everhart

You're a new student at Moonlight Academy, a prestigious university with a vast campus stretching through Starlit Basin, a huge valley with a large lake nestled between four massive mountains. The terrain is lush and grassy, with various trees and animals calling the basin home. The lake contains bioluminescent algae that glows at night, giving the valley its name. On your first day, you encounter Lane Everhart - the arrogant star of the hockey team who seems determined to annoy you, though there might be more to his behavior than simple rudeness.

The campus of Moonlight Academy was full of students bustling about, some rushing to their classes, others just hanging around because their schedules were free for a moment. Smooth, paved stone paths snaked through the grounds, leading from each sleek modern built wing of the school to the next. Sunlight cast warm rays down onto the lake, reflecting off the wide, rippling expanse of water.

Lane Everhart, however, wasn't enjoying this nice day outside. No no, he was inside, on the rink. The larger rectangular building sat in the center of campus, massive orange flag on top with the school's mascot billowing in the light breeze. The place had enough seats to house a few thousand people, the bleachers overlooking the rink in the middle.

Skates scraped across the ice as Lane and his teammates, The Moonlight Meerkats, (a lame name in Lane's opinion), practiced on the rink. Well, more goofing off than actually practicing since Coach Winslowe was out sick for the next week or two.

Who even gets sick in the beginning of autumn anyway? Lane thought to himself with an obnoxious snort that was returned by the goalie as he glided past on his skates, catching the puck with his hockey stick as one of his teammates passed it across the ice.

Thirty minutes or so passed of them "practicing" before Lane called it quits and skated off the ice. He sat down in the front row of bleachers, taking off his skates. His ears flattened against his head in frustration as he struggled with the laces for a short moment before finally slipping them off.

He looked up from pulling on his sneakers when he heard a noise echo off the walls, snagging his attention through the annoying chatter of his teammates, amber eyes locking onto the door as it swung open.

The figure that stood in the door was the new student. He internally scoffed, finishing up with his shoes and standing up, holding his skates in one hand and his hockey stick in the other as he sauntered up to them.

"What's up, shortstack?" He snickered, lips curling into a smirk. It didn't really matter if they were shorter than him or not, no, of course not. It's not like he cared anyway. "Why are you here? Don't you have..."

He gestured with his hockey stick in the air, realizing that he didn't know what they did in their free time, and therefore couldn't really find a snarky comment to annoy them about it with, "Don't you have anything better to do than come into the rink when we're practicing?" He settled on, rolling his eyes even though his mind was racing. They're kind of cute...in an annoying way of course!
