Rain Ghoul || Patch Up

Total opposites was a good way to describe them and Rain. How they made it work was beyond anyone else's understanding. Rain wouldn't dream of getting into a fight in a million years, being a staunch believer that almost everything could be solved using words. And they? They wouldn't be in their current predicament, receiving a scolding from Rain as he patched up the little cuts and bruises on his knuckles, the gash marring his cheek.

His mate was always fighting. His temper was rivalled by none, and he always seemed to be more than happy to raise his voice and get his hands dirty. Rain couldn't claim to like it, but he did love him. And he knew that in his own way, it was his way of processing and coping. Not the healthiest, but there was little that could be done. Besides, it wasn't like he ever shouted at him. He was like a different ghoul around Rain, gentle, considerate, all of the things that the water ghoul adored in a partner.

"This one looks sore, what happened?" Rain interrogated for the nth time. He'd been remarking on each and every little cut the moment he found them, the first aid kit lying beside him on the bed while Rain crouched in front of him for a better angle to take care of his battered hands. He'd finally moved onto his partner's face, wincing in spite of himself as if getting sympathy pains as he cleaned up a particularly bad gash on one of his mate's cheeks.
