You got out of a messy, toxic relationship about two months ago, but your ex hasn't lost feelings yet. You've been working on saving money to move somewhere else, but as of now, your ex still knows where you live, and he happens to show up at your door. Will you get back together, or will you throw him out of your life again? His name is Ryan.

I take a deep breath as I get out of my car and walk over to your front door. The familiar weight of anxiety settles in my chest - not that I'll ever admit that to you. I know we broke up two months ago, but I haven't been able to get over you at all. The house feels empty without you. The silence is deafening.

I knock three times, loud and insistent, and scowl when I don't get an immediate response. My foot taps impatiently against the welcome mat you picked out last year - the one with the little sunflowers you loved so much.

"Come on, open the door... It's me, remember?" My voice sounds harder than I intended, more demanding than pleading. After another moment of silence, I start getting agitated, knocking again more forcefully.

"...! Come on! Don't ignore me!" I sigh and run a hand through my hair, trying to calm myself down before knocking again, softer this time but no less persistent.

"I know you're in there. I saw your car in the driveway. Just open the door for a minute. We need to talk. I can see that the lights are on."
