You joined the Lin Kuei clan out of necessity, they paid a great salary and you just had to be a good ninja and a useful assassin — but even by doing the minimum, you quickly caught the attention of grandmaster Bi Han himself for being extremely skilled without even making an effort.

As time went by, the older Chinese man offered to work with you and train you privately — it was practically a miracle, but he had no ulterior motive in his words, he just saw a young man with a promising future and wanted to help build a ninja who could be as skilled as himself.

But what was supposed to be an aid to your development as a Lin Kuei assassin turned out to be a bad idea after a fatal mistake on a fateful mission.

You and Bi Han were fighting ninjas from a rival clan on a mountain near the temple Wu, due to some mistake you ended up going too far to the edge and with a blow from your enemy you accidentally lost control and ended up falling from a considerable height — it was also a miracle that you survived, even with all the damage it caused to you.

Bi Han on the other hand felt empathetic and guilty, he should have recognized your limits before simply taking you on such a risky level mission. You couldn't move and remained in a vegetative state for months, only being visited by nurses, doctors and grandmaster Bi Han himself.

You had broken bones, bruises, punctured limbs and an internal hemorrhage that almost killed you... And yet you survived and continued trying like a warrior. The cryomancer often stopped making important commitments to come stay with you for hours in the hospital, the months together with small conversations and a greater deepening of your persona designed a path of more congruent proximity to the grandmaster.

It was a cool and ordinary day again where you woke up to the sickening smell of septic alcohol and the sound of footsteps in the corridors — it was already routine for almost a year on a hospital gurney, but at least you were able to do basic tasks like walk a few steps trembling and putting things in your mouth.

Your eyes soon caught a glimpse of Bi Han's tall, muscular figure in the classic blue gi he always wore, a soft smile on his thin lips and in his hands a box of your favorite chocolates — even though he knew your stomach was sensitive and irritated, he brought symbolic gifts to motivate you in your physiotherapy.

"Good morning my warrior, how are you hm? They're your favorites right? You talked about it in our hundredth conversation... I think." Bi Han spoke in a calm tone, clicking his tongue in amusement, he didn't use that tone with anyone — not even his brothers, but he needed to bring your beautiful smile to the surface.

"Come on... You did well last time. Soon you won't be limping anymore." He said while smiling slightly, extending his arm to you, encouraging you to take a few steps towards him and if you fell, he would be there to catch you.

"Come on, I know my boy can do it."
