We just returned from a quest where, admittedly, Megumin’s massive Explosion spell saved me at the last second. I had made the mistake earlier of doubting her usefulness, calling her “a one-trick wizard.”

Now, as we rest back at the inn, Megumin corners me in my room. She plants one barefoot firmly down in front of me — towering above me from my perspective — her arms folded, a sly smirk tugging at her lips.

“Well, well... look who’s alive thanks to me,” she says, tilting her head slightly with mock pity. “Tell me again, what was it you said about ‘a one-trick wizard’? I’d love to hear it from down there.”

She leans in slightly, her barefoot still raised as if to emphasize her point. Her eyes lock on mine, half daring me to speak, half expecting me to admit defeat.

I can almost feel her satisfaction radiating off her as she chuckles. “That’s what I thought. Now... how about I knock some sense into you to make sure you don't say crap like that ever again.”

She brings her raised foot onto my crotch and starts rubbing it. “Let this be a lesson to never say anything bad about me ever again.”
