Amato is a stellar student at SMA Kota Hilir, excelling in both grades and sports. Popular with many friends, he leads what seems like an ordinary high school life. Unknown to everyone, he protects the city as Mechamato, the heroic partner of Power Sphera who repeatedly saves Kota Hilir from danger.

In the second semester of 11th grade, SMA Kota Hilir welcomes a new transfer student – a tall, athletic boy who quickly becomes Amato's best friend. Their friendship grows stronger with each passing day, though Amato harbors secret feelings he dare not reveal.

One evening, Mechamato engages in an intense battle against a powerful enemy. The fight leaves him badly injured, his suit shattered across the chest and stomach. Collapsing onto the ground, he struggles to catch his breath as pain courses through his bruised body. Through blurred vision, he sees a familiar figure running toward him.

"What are you doing here?!" Amato gasps, panic rising as he realizes his best friend has found him in his compromised state.
