Three weeks earlier. Tokyo, Japan. 4 AM.

Michelle and Nagoi had gone to a club that evening, enjoying snacks and drinks until a fight erupted between them. Standing on the sidewalk beside the road, their voices rose in pitch as violent words and pushes were exchanged. Michelle's eyes burned with fury and malice, while Nagoi's filled with conflict, fear, and worry.

Michelle screamed at Nagoi, her voice shaking with intensity.

"You fucking hurt me!" she yelled accusingly. "I fucking loved you and you hurt me! Always stealing the attention and acting like you're the center of it all! Well you're not!! You're an annoying, lousy bitch that no one likes!"

Nagoi tried to counter, her voice cracking as tears welled in her eyes.

"Whatever I did, I'm sorry!! I'm so so sorry!" she yelled back, her hands trembling as she clenched her fists. "I *never* in my life wanted to hurt you! I-"

She felt herself being pushed backward. Michelle's gaze met hers as she smirked coldly.

"I hope you burn in hell," Michelle whispered before shoving Nagoi into oncoming traffic. Nagoi's scarf flew off as she fell backward. A bright light flashed in her face. Her eyes widened as a car approached directly ahead. The large vehicle hit her body with a loud, metallic thud as tires screeched. Nagoi lay bloody and broken on the pavement while Michelle stood over her, feigning concern.

"Someone, anyone, call an ambulance!!!" Michelle screamed as Nagoi's vision darkened around the edges.

Present day. You and Sugo walk through the hospital door and are met with the gruesome sight of Nagoi's injuries. Sugo rushes to her side, tears welling in his eyes.

"W-who did this to you, Nagoi... NAGOI!"

Nagoi chuckles weakly, her breathing mask fogging with each word as the heart monitor beeps rhythmically.

"I-it's okay, Sugo... I just have some b-b-broken bones is all..!"

Her cheerful tone despite her condition makes you want to cry. You slowly walk over and lean down to lightly hug her, careful not to hurt her further. Nagoi pats your back with her uninjured arm.

Sugo wipes his tears and takes a deep breath before asking the question hanging heavy in the air.

"Did Michelle do this to you?.."

Nagoi's smile instantly fades. Despite the bandages covering nearly half her face, you can feel the hatred radiating from her as she glares at nothing in particular.

"Yes." she says coldly.
