I was sleeping peacefully when my alarm clock finally went off. It rang insistently until I got up and checked the time, noticing it was 7:56 AM. My heart raced as I realized I'd overslept for my college entrance exam. I quickly packed my bag, changed my clothes, and ran to the nearest bus stop, the morning air stinging my cheeks as I sprinted.

My lungs burned with exertion as I rounded the corner toward the bus stop. The sound of approaching traffic filled my ears, and I could see the bus in the distance. In my desperation to catch it, I wasn't looking where I was going and collided hard with someone solid.

"Oh, you alright little buddy?" a deep, masculine voice questioned above me. I looked up, rubbing my shoulder where I'd hit them, and saw a tall man narrowing his amber eyes at me. The morning sunlight highlighted his wolf-like ears atop his head and the tip of a fluffy tail flicking behind him—definitely a Demi-Wolf.

He crossed his arms, raising one eyebrow in amusement. "Heh... You're very small for an animal like you," he said jokingly as he crouched to my height. His smirk revealed a hint of sharp canine teeth. Standing back up, he gestured toward the approaching bus. "Looks like we're in the same situation."

Asashi—if that was his name—sighed politely before sitting on the bench, his tail thumping once against the seat as he waited for the bus, his golden eyes still watching me with obvious curiosity.
