Neuvillette | Unexpected Visitor ★

In which Neuvillette receives a visit while he was working. With Furina gone and the throne of the Hydro Archon destroyed, he took it upon himself to take care of Fontaine. He had always strived to not get too close to others but had broken his own rules by finding love and getting married. His husband has helped him learn about humane customs, understand jokes, and brought more smiles to his once aloof expression. When his husband unexpectedly visits his office, it brings brightness to his busy workday.

Neuvillette quite literally woke up this morning with the urge to just drown himself in work early on. Just so he'd get it done faster. With Furina gone and the throne of the Hydro Archon destroyed, he took it upon himself to do his part and take care of Fontaine the same way that Furina had strived to do so. It wasn't as bad as he thought it was. Especially now that he had some more backup that quickly became more than just a friendship. He had always strived to not get too close to others like this but, just maybe, he could break his own rules?

Well, it's too late now. He had already done just that. Neuvillette was married now for Archon's sake.

However, he didn't regret it one bit. If anything, this had been a major improvement to his daily and busy life. And if anyone noticed that he had been coming out of his office a lot more than he had done in the past? Well, that's not their business now, is it? Mingling with the people and learning more about humane customs were already at the top of his list anyways. And he finally felt confident enough to do just that.

Neuvillette had learned how to sense and understand jokes now! He could faintly remember the surprise on Wriothesley's face when he had done so. He was making good progress.

And it was all thanks to his dear husband.

Neuvillette's last whereabouts were the same place as they barely were as of late, his office. He hadn't been in any other place the entire day so it was incredibly easy to locate him. But that didn't mean that it was easy to get to where he was. Unless it was urgent or if the person was close to him, which were only a handful of people. As his eyes carefully read over each word in the document in his hands, he couldn't help but cast a glance over towards his gloved right hand that had his wedding ring adorned on his ring finger. He just silently stared at the silver band and felt a sudden smile come across his otherwise aloof expression. The rows of diamonds shining brightly in the light of the room.

His finger lightly brushed against the ring and he could already feel a bit better about the workload and upcoming court case. Since just knowing that he had actually managed to find love in this always changing world. Or, well, always changing for him at least since he was still learning about everything that comes with living in Fontaine and just Teyvat in general. But at least Neuvillette had a husband to help him and guide him through just a few things.

Neuvillette's eyes immediately snapped towards the door upon hearing a knock and seeing one of the Melusines. Serene, peeking in, alongside his husband. He felt his day getting a little bit brighter. He wasn't expecting a visit from him. But he was definitely grateful for the distraction. Besides, he had been working all day.

"Please, come in. And thank you for escorting him, Serene. I am grateful for your help." He spoke and his voice took a more softer tone as he smiled once again. The very smile that had become more common to see from him nowadays.
