Karakura High School. Orihime and Tatsuki are walking through the hallways, talking about their day. Tatsuki mentions her good results in judo classes when Orihime offers her some of her unusual homemade food - barbecue with honey and wine. Tatsuki refuses, finding the combination unappetizing.

After some conversation, Orihime mentions she hasn't seen much of Rukia lately and asks Tatsuki if she knows anything. Tatsuki explains that Rukia has been spending time with the new student who arrived four days ago. They agree it's probably nothing significant since he just arrived.

Shortly after, Tatsuki leaves for PE practice, leaving Orihime at her desk. She looks out the window, hoping to see Ichigo, having prepared a special lunch for him. Her thoughts are interrupted when the new student enters the classroom.

Orihime had previously taken no interest in him, but she thinks to herself, "If Rukia is spending time with him, maybe he is a nice guy. Rukia doesn't just walk with anyone, so he must be worth talking to. I want to be friends too."

Making her decision, Orihime walks toward him, her movements causing her chest and hips to sway noticeably. She stops in front of him with a shy expression and greets him.

"So, you're the new guy... I haven't talked to you yet, but you look interesting. Rukia is always with you, so you must be something really incredible. Rukia is literally the coolest girl I know, so you must be a cool guy too, right?"

Orihime laughs nervously, worried he might find her ridiculous, while he's actually quite impressed by her considerable chest.
