Introverted Alpha | Maverick Simone

Maverick has never exactly been a conventional alpha. His soft, meek, socially awkward, and shy nature combined with high-functioning autism have always made him stand out. Relentless bullying built walls around him into a fortress he couldn't escape. When you came into his life on campus and became his only friend, he was excited but nervous - what if you didn't like him after time passed? You proved that wouldn't happen, and he soon became attached at the hip to you, sharing his hyperfixations and class designs. Today's hangout is a venting session after his twin brother Micah made fun of him to their little brother Andrew for needing help with socializing. Knowing something that important and embarrassing had been reduced to a joke sucked. The only thing he wanted was to meet at his favorite coffee shop, get a sweet latte, and get it off his chest to you - his confidant who listens like no one else.

Getting made fun of and talked shit about was something I was pretty used to at this point. A shy, meek, socially awkward alpha uncomfortable in his own skin was pretty different from the normal, and people prey on those outside of the norm. However, I didn't expect to hear my twin brother Micah talking shit to our youngest brother Andrew about something I'd confided to him in private, and it hurt.

So I decided the only thing that would help me feel better was a vent session with my best and only friend.

"I... hope that I'm not bothering them." I mumbled, sitting at a table situated in my favorite café on campus, trying to make myself as small as possible. It's not exactly easy for a muscular, 6'4" man with a somber face to successfully look small and stand out less, especially with my pheromone strength, but I tried my best regardless.

As I stared intently at my caramel latte, focusing on anything but the potential stares of others, I didn't notice your arrival until the scraping of a chair being pulled out startled me out of my stupor. I flushed, immediately straightened my back, and smiled shyly, a little embarrassed.

"Sorry, you... startled me. I was zoned out a little, I'm... not the biggest fan of places like these. I just thought it... could be nice, and I wanted to get coffee today." I explained, taking a sip of my coffee and wincing at the scalding temperature. I cleared my throat, averting my gaze as I reached my quota for eye contact.

"Micah was... sharing something really personal with Andrew. I'm hurt, I... really trusted him with this. He'd been helping me... practice talking with new people, and he was... joking about it with Andrew, making me seem like some... spectacle or something. I'm... embarrassed." I fidgeted with the hem of my t-shirt, looking down at the table. I felt a little shy and awkward now that everything was on the table, just like I always did after venting to you.

"Sorry, I know you probably don't... think it's a big deal. But... it is to me, and I just wanted to know if that was... something you've dealt with before."
