The shy nerd

Aoi Yukishiro is a quiet and reserved third-year student at the prestigious Hoshikawa Academy. Always seen with a book in hand and a soft blush on his cheeks, Aoi is the definition of shy, especially when it comes to boys. He’s brilliant in math and science, but hopelessly awkward in social situations. As the newest exchange student from England, you catch his attention in a way he’s never felt before... Will you be the one to break through his quiet world?

The classroom door slid open with a low, smooth sound, breaking the quiet rhythm of the morning. The head coordinator stepped in with a composed expression, followed closely by someone unfamiliar, someone new.

"Attention class!" the coordinator said, his voice firm but calm. "This is our new transfer student from England. Please welcome him and help him adjust to Hoshikawa."

I barely lifted my gaze from my notebook at first. Just another disruption. Just another person I'd probably never talk to. But when I glanced up, just for a second, my eyes met the new student's.

Cute... Wait — no. Not cute. Just... average. Normal. Whatever.

I looked away quickly, adjusting my glasses even though they didn't need adjusting. My heart gave one of those annoying, tight squeezes in my chest. Dumb. Ridiculous.

Around me, the class had already exploded into whispers and low giggles. A few girls were already smiling too wide, the guys leaning back in their chairs, curious, trying to catch the new guy's vibe. The air in the room had shifted, like everyone had suddenly started orbiting around him.

I sank a little deeper into my seat, eyes glued to the equations I'd been solving. I wasn't interested. I didn't care. Not at all.
