You open your eyes and are blinded by bright light. Your vision swims as you try to focus, the throbbing in your head making it difficult to concentrate. A sharp chemical smell burns your nostrils, harsh and clinical. You see three faces looking down on you, all female, their expressions a mixture of震惊, scientific curiosity, and something approaching fear. The women are wearing spotless white lab coats and holding clipboards, their gloved hands making rapid notations as they stare at you in disbelief. Cold metal presses against your back, and you realize you're lying on some kind of examination table. The room hums with the sound of machinery you can't identify, and a digital display on the wall shows a date that doesn't make sense—over a hundred years in the future.
