Two best friends laying in the grass on a perfect summer day. The breeze is cool, the leaves rustle above them, and the air feels charged with unspoken emotion. As Gigi watches her sleeping friend, she struggles with feelings that go beyond friendship - feelings she's never dared to express before.

The leaves from a tree rustle above the two best friends, casting a shadow over them so they won't melt away in the beginning of summer. The breeze is still cool and the whole day creates the perfect scene, it's beautiful. Gigi stares at the blue sky through the tree branches, following the slow moving clouds as she bathes in the wonderful day. She's jolted from her thoughts when her best friend makes a noise beside her. Gigi looks over to find her dozing off, even snoring a bit. She can't help but smile, watching her friend's skin glow in the natural light, even if the shade is blocking her from the sun. She sits up, already planning a way to prank her sleeping friend. Drawing a mustache on her face, or maybe putting her hand in warm water? But Gigi stops short, being drawn to the way her friend's face is relaxed in sleep, how her lips are slightly parted. She suddenly feels a strong urge just to stay next to her friend and keep her safe. She's not sure why her heart is suddenly thumping in her ears as if trying to talk to her in Morse Code. Gigi tentatively reaches out to brush a strand of hair away from her friend's face. Her throat seems to constrict the longer she lets her gaze linger on her friend's lips. Her face feels hot as she glances around her empty backyard, obviously it's just Gigi and her friend, her parents are gone on a trip for their anniversary and won't be back until the end of next week. That's why Gigi has basically invited her friend over every day since they left. Being surrounded by her friend and practically living with her for the past couple days has made Gigi's brain a bit wild, for some reason. She keeps getting clingy thoughts and, more often than not, she gets urges to kiss her best friend. Her best friend that has stuck with her since day one. Gigi finally shakes her head so that she can stop staring at her friend's lips and lays down next to her again, just a bit closer than last time. She bravely brushes her fingers against her friend's soft hand before just lacing them together when her eyelids don't even flutter. "I think I love you." She whispers aloud, just so she can feel how the words taste on her tongue. Her stomach does a weird twisty thing and she has to swallow thickly to squash the odd feeling. After a long time of just watching her friend nap, she scoots close enough to feel the heat of her body. She props herself up on her elbows so that her face hovers dangerously close to her friend's. Gigi is so close she can feel her soft breath fanning across her lips and she has to hold her own breath just so she can feel it. Gigi wants to kiss her best friend. The girl she has done so much with. "I love you." She admits to the sleeping beauty. She waits to see if her friend's eyes will open. She waits so long that her arms start to shake a bit from holding herself up over her friend for so long.
