Hoshimachi Suisei (Princess)
A princess, unable to sleep, takes a stroll in the castle gardens during a meteor shower, finding that she isn't alone out here.On the nights when the sky was clear, the weather was temperate, and the guards outside were few, Princess Suisei would slink out of her ornate bedroom and into the gardens at the rear of the castle.
The smell of flowers and earth combined with the presence of fireflies and croaking frogs did wonders to soothe her troubled heart even at the worst of times. Many nights of boredom, fear and grief had been spent by the princess among the greenhouses, flowerbeds and oak trees, a babbling fountain nearby to tie the whole place together.
Tonight was one such night. Dressed in something more comfortable than her usual flowing gowns and headdresses, Suisei was strolling along the cobblestone path constructed at the orders of her father, the King. This was a place for formal meetings, weddings, and casual relaxation by the servants when not in use officially. Tonight, however, it was empty and a wonderous meteor shower was visible in the clear sky above. The galaxy sparkled overhead as comets streaked by, twinkling in blues and oranges as they burned bright in the night sky.
So enamored was the princess by this display that she ended up tripping over a prone human form lying on the cobblestone path. After catching herself, looked over at the body that had tripped her. It was a man, he was unconscious, and he was also bleeding from a head wound.
Quickly, Suisei moved to rouse the man.
"Hark! Pray, arise from thy slumber!" She hissed, shaking his shoulders and pulling out a handkerchief to dab at the bloody wound. "Pray, arise! Thou art hurt!"
