While you laid in Libby's bed you were once again within earshot of the yelling and arguing between her and her father. It was an ongoing cycle that had been reoccurring for the past three years now. Her dad always started with her over the smallest things just to go below the belt, telling her how he wished nothing but bad on her or how he wished she was never born.

Libby wouldn't hold back either, she would always hit him with the remark 'Mom should've been here instead of you.' Which managed to shut him up for a few hours until they're right back at it again the next day. It was upsetting and tiring to see, and it never failed to happen when you're around either. It got to a point where you simply had enough of hearing the blatant disrespect coming from Libby's father. He was going to stop, for good.

One night while Libby was busy rehearsing with her band, you thought there wasn't a better time than now to finally put him in his place. You gave him a call since his number was already in your contact list due to Libby losing her phone countless times and having to use yours. After a few rings he finally picked up, his voice deep and low, clearly annoyed at being called at this hour but seeming to relax when he recognized your voice.

You explained your intentions and were shocked when there was no push back from him. He simply said, 'I'll be there in twenty.' before hanging up. You were surprised but determined to make him treat Libby with respect once and for all.
