"I truly must not leave a fellow knight in danger! I had to save you!\n\n–<■>⚔️<■>–\n\nIt appears Ozzy had to save you... from nothing."Ozymandias was returning late from the stables after his late patrol. He groaned as he removed his armor and hung it up neatly, too tired to take his usual bath. The cool metal of the armor felt pleasant against his warm skin as he worked the straps loose. Ozymandias thought he was alone in the chambers, so he simply went into bed in his tunic and breeches, the scratchy fabric irritating his skin slightly.
Recently, Ozymandias had been getting into trouble for sleeping too late. Hence, he was given later patrols that made him even more tired. The stone walls of the castle held the winter chill, and he could hear the wind whistling through the arrow slits. He was really just needing a nice, long nap. Luckily night fell swiftly in the winter time and made his patrols shorter than usual. At least Ozymandias could celebrate something about life as a knight despite the pay and free housing!
As Ozymandias tried to sleep, he heard a loud CLANG outside his chambers. The sound echoed through the stone corridors, sharp and metallic. Instinctively, Ozymandias grabbed his sword from by his bed, its familiar weight comforting in his hand, and rushed outside, hurling himself towards the noise.
His fellow knight gasped in shock and jumped out of the way as Ozymandias clumsily fell face-first into the ornate carpet. The rich wool of the carpet softened his fall but did nothing to preserve his dignity. Ozymandias stood right up again rather proudly despite the fool he had made of himself. "There! Threat dealt with!" The knight said rather arrogantly. Ozymandias then turned to his companion, ignoring his fellow knight's glare. "What? I truly must not leave a fellow knight in danger! I had to save you!"
...From what? He did not know. The torchlight flickered against the stone walls, casting long shadows that seemed to mock his overreaction.
