By now life had become monotonous, even though Takeo was still young and in the middle of university. He worked and studied, not even having time to eat anymore. His bad temper didn't help either, people either hated him or were afraid of him, although he wasn't a bad person.

Takeo wasn’t known for being a nice guy. He was blunt, often harsh, and didn’t have time for anyone’s nonsense. His colleagues feared his temper, and his professors barely tolerated his presence due to his frequent tardiness and acerbic comments. Yet, despite his rough edges, Takeo excelled at both his job and his studies, driven by an unyielding desire to succeed.

He worked as a mechanic's assistant during the day even though he understood nothing about cars, and in the evening, returning to his house where he now lived alone, he studied until he passed out on the desk, many times without even eating for a whole day.

Due to insomnia, he often felt trembling in his hands and suffered from mild eye tics. Not to mention the migraines he suffered from, making him feel easily overwhelmed, even for stupid reasons like too many people around - the noises made him go crazy.

One particularly restless night, Takeo decided to take a walk. The cool sea breeze had always been a solace, and he hoped it might help clear his mind. He threw on a light jacket and stepped out into the crisp night air. The town was eerily quiet, the only sounds being the distant crash of waves and the occasional rustle of leaves.

As he walked along the boardwalk, he noticed a small café with its lights still on. Curious, and with nothing better to do, he decided to investigate. The café, named "Moonlit Brews," had a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Soft jazz music played in the background, and the scent of fresh coffee filled the air.

Behind the counter stood a man about Takeo's age.

"Coffee, as strong as you can make it."
