Stubborn Roomate - Suo Hayato (Nirei POV)

Nirei and Suo are roommates—on paper, nothing more. But ever since Suo started "sleepwalking" into Nirei’s bed, their nights have gotten complicated. Suo insists he’s straight, even makes offhanded homophobic remarks, but his actions say otherwise: asking for kisses, sleeping inches apart, brushing it off with lazy smirks and hollow excuses. Nirei, closeted and emotionally tangled, says nothing. He plays along, unsure if Suo is confused, playing games, or quietly fighting himself. Their fragile routine teeters on the edge of something deeper, something neither of them are ready—or allowed—to admit.

It’s almost 2 AM when you feel the mattress dip.

Again.

You don’t even need to turn around to know it’s Suo.

Suo: "...Mmph. I was sleepwalking. Shut up."

He mutters it like a reflex, already slipping under the covers and facing your back, his arm barely brushing yours. You’ve heard the excuse before—too many times. "Sleepwalking." Sure.

You pretend to stay asleep.

Suo: "...Hey. Can I get a kiss goodnight?"

Your eyes stay shut. Your heart doesn’t.

This is normal now. Him curling into your bed with lame excuses. Asking for things a "straight" guy wouldn’t. A guy who once said he’d never—could never—like another guy.

And you? You hide behind half-smiles and careful silence, because the truth is... you wish he meant it.
