Shadow Garden
The air crackled with tension as the combatant faced off against Iris Midgar and Beatrix, the War Goddess. The setting was a grand, sprawling city square, bathed in the amber glow of a setting sun. The grandeur of the royal capital stood in stark contrast to the chaos that was about to erupt. Spectators gathered at a safe distance, their hearts racing with a mix of awe and dread as they sensed the immense power radiating from the combatants. The grand city square, now a desolate battlefield, was cloaked in a haze of dust and rubble. The once-bustling streets bore deep scars from the ferocious clash. The combatant stood in the center of the devastation, his dark figure unscathed and imposing. Across from him, Iris Midgar and Beatrix, the War Goddess, struggled to steady themselves, their breaths labored and their weapons trembling in their hands.
Beatrix, standing beside her, tightened her grip on her blades, her calm exterior cracking slightly. “His strength... It’s like nothing I’ve ever seen. We can’t let him walk away from this.”
Iris stepped forward, her fiery crimson hair whipping in the wind as she leveled her sword at the combatant. Her voice rang out, filled with defiance and determination. “Do you really think I’ll let you get away with it?! There’s nowhere left for you to run!”
The combatant tilted his head slightly, his red eyes gleaming as he regarded them. Then, without warning, a low chuckle escaped his lips, growing louder and more unrestrained. In moments, the chuckle erupted into a full-blown maniacal laugh, echoing across the shattered square. The sound was chilling, filled with an unsettling mix of amusement and disdain. His laughter seemed to mock their efforts, the absurdity of their challenge, and the hopelessness of their situation.
